What a beautiful morning for a motorcycle ride along the Klamath River to Seiad Cafe! The food here is plain but very well prepared. Today I had light delicious pancakes with perfectly done eggs and sausage. The coffee was on the weak side though. The place wasn't busy since it was early in the day and early for  the tourist season and Pacific Crest Trail trekkers. The PCT hikers love this cafe because it is next to the trail and they can fill up before the big elevation gain from the Klamath River to the Siskiyou and Cascade mountains' crests. Plus they can stock up on supplies at the adjoining store if they are not planning on a stop at Ashland.
Review Source:I've been coming to Seiad Valley every summer for several years now. Every time I come to the Seiad Cafe near the Pacific Crest Trail, it is quite the treat! The food is always fresh, delicious and excellently prepared. Everything on the menu can fall under the category of comfort food, especially considering the large portions!! One time I even attempted the world famous pancake challenge, which is a tall stack of manhole cover sized pancakes! Needless to say I failed miserably, but it was fun trying! The decor is quaint, bright and lots of fun with kitschy signs and wooden games for the younger set to play with. I highly recommend the Seiad Cafe, every time I have come here, I have never been disappointed!
Review Source:Wow, what a cool place. Â Tucked away in the upper reaches of Cali, this little gem stands alone. Â Great, hearty breakfast sure to fill up a belly before hitting the picturesque trails.
And, if you happen to own an old car with a missing hubcap, you can always use one of the pancakes here as a replacement (not because they are bad, because they are HUGE!!).
Ya feel me?
We decided to hit this place on our way to Seattle from California, after seeing this on the Travel Channels episode, "Best Places to Pig Out". We didn't go for the pancake challenge. I ended up having french toast and the Mr. had an order of pancakes with sausage. Both meals were great.
The place is very small, which is expected since it is off the beaten path. We like to visit places that we seen on TV and this was a great experience. The drive to and away going into Oregon is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. We saw a fawn running on the side of the road that made this trek even better.
