Shakers Lounge

Yesterday was my first time to shakers. The bar tenders were nice, and the draft beer selection was the most I've seen out here. I went since this is the only place I've heard that does karaoke in this area. There were only three of us doing karaoke, as it was SUPER dead, which is fine... but the karaoke dude didn't have any books of what selection he has. Ive just never been to a place that doesn't. He was a little tipsy and got rude when I asked if he could look up what songs he had from a particular artist. He told me he "doesn't do that for people... if he does it for me then everyone will want to do that." Did I mention there were only three people doing karaoke in the entire bar? So... I would love to say I'll never go back... but I have yet to find another spot around here that does karaoke. Usually karaoke DJ's that I've been too are super friendly, helping you find songs or whatever, especially if the place is slow.

In a town already overrun with bars, Shakers really stands out from the rest.  They have a fine selection of draft beer, their prices on other drinks are reasonable, and they never charge cover for their live entertainment on the weekends.  The food is good as well; I especially like the items available on the appetizer menu.  If you live in Ottawa or are just visiting, this is your go-to place...

Shakers is always full and loud and has live music.  It's a great place to go in Ottawa.
