I'm in town for work for a few days, and this place is right next to my hotel (Holiday Inn Express) so... why not? It looks fancy and delicious, and the interior was the same. Great decor, somewhat comfy seats that suck you in, and friendly staff. They're not too attentive (had to walk halfway to a seat before they saw us), but it was a Monday night and I'm sure they're not expecting many people.

If you order a Corona, ask for no salt.... they roll the entire bottle in a salt bath and it litters the table with salt (wtf?). Cold beer glasses was a win (I ordered a Shiner Bock). Co-worker got the chicken caesar (lacking), fish & chips combo (average), and I ordered the oyster po-boy (minimal oyster, but good). We'll probably be back tomorrow simply cuz I don't feel like eating at a dive bar or Whataburger, but this place should probably have more seafood choices to be called "Shellfish".

PS, If I could shrink this place to scale, I would want it to be my house decor. Thanks.

Just ate over at Shellfish here in the nothing to do town of Port Lavaca. I was surprised that this place wasn't one of the top restaurants in the town. The building is out of place because its modern and classy. The interior had a great feel, big screen tvs, very spacious.

There was not very much seafood on the menu, but plenty of great choices. They did have a red fish, shrimp, and tilapia option.

The waitress told us about their fancier side of the restaurant had to close down, but she showed us an amazing of what they served. The restaurant is, like I said, out of place here in Port Lavaca, but its by far steps ahead of the rest of the town.

I got a meatloaf sandwich with fried onion goodness with a house salad on the side. We also ordered the black and tan onion rings, which were awesome. The chef delivered our food to make sure we were satisfied.

Everyone at our table of 8 was satisfied. There aren't many choices in Port Lavaca, and if I ever find myself here again,  I'd would go back.

First classy restaurant in Port Lavaca and it's located across the beach. The interior and atmosphere of the restaurant is promising but I don't see them lasting long if they don't make slight changes to the pricing or provide lunch specials. The several times I came, the restaurant was empty other than my table of friends and another table.
The food is not bad. The burgers are juicy and the poboys are pretty good. Both come on a buttered ciabatta bread and seasoned gourmet fries with ketchup, tartar sauce, and a jalopeno remoulade.
They do have a happy hour but it's only for drinks, no food. If there's a party going on, they turn half of the dining room into a dance floor. Also, there's alligators in the backyard that leads to the ocean.
