I haven't been to the restaurant, but they set up a stand at the Ballston Farmer's Market in Arlington on Thursdays, and their creamy crab dip and crab gazpacho are absolutely addictive. I dare you not to eat the whole thing of gazpacho in one sitting, and on an ambitious day armed with some good crackers, maybe the crab dip, too.
Review Source:We have been going to Shells Yes since it opened. Â We love the people and most of all,the food. Â We have always had an excellent meal. Everything is fresh, never frozen and this chef knows how to cook. Â The pork chop is unbelievable and the crab cake is wonderful. The scallops are the best we've had in years.
We're glad we live close to this wonderful restaurant!!!

Went Here For Lunch Today. I Had Been Wanting To Go Since They Opend And  Finally Did. My Wife, Mother And Father Inlaw Everyone Ordered Crab Cake Sandwiches But My Wife She Had A Burger. I Was Really Expecting A Good Crab Cake Based On The Name And The Way It Was Promoted. It Was Not Good. Very Small, To Much Filler And No Flavor. Everyone At Are Table Complained To Each Other. My Wife Did Not Like Her Burger As Well. We Had Shrimp And Crab Dip For App And It Was Ok But Nothing Special. On A Good Note The Service Was Good And They Have A Nice Selection Of Beer. I Would Not Go Back To Eat, But Would Go Back For Drinks only.
Review Source:It's taken me awhile to get around to writing a review...yeah I'm slow. The BF and I have made this our Thursday night Happy Hour spot. .25 wings from 5-midnight. Need I say more?!
Every week they try to make a new flavor wing sauce their special. I generally stick with the Buffalo - which could be a tad hotter if you ask me but still good! Our friend always gets the bourbon. We've also tried the sweet chili and old bay. They were good as well. Now if you love a crispy wing you will be disappointed. I'm thinking they are oven baked. Fine by me but I know many peeps love a crispy fried wing.
One day I will try other stuff from the menu I promise! They also have a 1/2 price crab cake night. Good thing since I'm thinking their CC sandwich is $16 normally!
The service is always good. Though sometimes they do seem like they are "in the weeds". The wings generally take a while to make their appearance on your table but I think they are delicious (and worth every bit of the $2.50 I spend on them!
Great restaurant! Â Took the family and everyone LOVED the sweet chilli wings. Â Service was friendly and prompt and atmosphere was terrific for the holidays. Â Decent kids menu (chicken fingers were ok). Â The chicken Chesapeake was terrific. Â My sides of potatoes and green beans/corn was perfect
Why 4 stars instead of 5? Â The crab cakes. Â Admittedly, the menu said it contained Dijon, but it completely masked the flavor of the crab which wasn't jumbo lump meat, but instead shreds of meat that reminds me of the kind of crab cakes I get when im in Salt Lake City, not what I expect when im on Kent Island. Â Maybe this was because its out of season and they weren't local crabs. Â Is this the price for fresh never frozen? Â I was just disappointed considering the name of the place.
Will I go back? Â Shells Yes! Â Those wings were great! Â Thursday night is 25 cent wing night.
The restaurant Kent Island deserves! Nothing frozen, everything made in-house, and a delicious selection off the menu and at the bar. Karaoke, a jukebox, and happy hour specials make it a great place to come for a drink.
Fresh seafood? You bet your sweet ass there is. I highly recommend the crab-hummus, the intriguingly sweet calamari (the tenderest I've ever had), and the crab roll. The french fries are go-to--you can't beat freshly cut and fried potatoes, get an order of tartar sauce to dip 'em in. I'm pretty sure I'd drink the hot crab dip if I wouldn't immediately die of happiness afterwards, but I still haven't tasted everything on the menu yet...
Bottom line: Should you visit? Shell Yes you should!
