Shelly's

Solid good grub. Nothing overly fancy, but a nice local place where the servers obviously know the people they're serving and are a part of the community.  
Food is nothing extravagant, but it is more than satisfactory and portions (at least the tenderloins) are large. For a small town diner, this was a good meal and experience

Shelly's is a sweet little place in Springville. It is very well kept and the staff was friendly. They have your regular sandwiches (Reuben, fish, French dip, bacon cheeseburger, Philly cheese steak, etc) and 6 different tenderloin options. You do have to had fries ala carte to your sandwich, but the fries were really good. They also have your regular bar-style appetizers. I went with the BLT, which was loaded with bacon and big fresh tomato slices. I swear they must have gotten those tomatoes from the farmer's market or something because they tasted like they were straight out of my garden.
Boyfriend's daughter had the kid's chicken strip basket, which came with 2 large chicken strips and fries. The chicken strips were so big she could only eat 1 of them! I would rather have that problem than the other way around. It also came with a small soda.
Shelly's has a big party room and a nice looking salad bar.
I would like to come back in the evening for one of their dinners; they have BBQ ribs on Fridays only, prime rib on Saturdays and regularly have rib-eye, country fried steak...all of those yummy, old fashioned faves!
They are closed on Mondays.

If you want a good Iowa pork tenderloin, Shelly's is the place to go. Whenever we go home to Iowa to visit family, we always eat at Shelly's. The tenderloins are enormous, yet I seem to have no problem eating all of it. There is much more on the menu than just pork tenderloins though. I've had a cod dish that was amazing with a side of potatoes that I find myself craving later.

Our family has had a few holiday parties there in the Down Under area. It's a great space for parties with good food and plenty of beverages available.
