I am from Maryland and own a second home in Confluence. Â Have known of Shepherd's Farm -and- their restaurant for over 15 years. Â
.
The general menu is  homestyle comfort food, reasonably well prepared.  Not exceptional but  still well-prepared and good. Â
.
HOWEVER, besides the ice cream, the real draw is the LAMB SANDWICHES.  It starts with a real lamb-roast that has been herb-rubbed and slow roasted in their oven.  Then they carved slices from this to order and finish it on their grill/griddle.  Served on a warm bun with your choice of b-b-q or horseradish sauces.  (I like a little of both).  This  IS exceptional.  Yum !
my dad and mom eat here when in the area. this place is not easy to find and you would only want to eat here if in the area. really. most of the time they say its empty and during the winter months its closed. Â it sits oon a busy kind of road. by busy i mean cars fly by. The owners raise their own lamb and its the specialty of the house. Â menu is simple but pretty extensive for how small they are. Â your server just might be the person who rings you up at the end. Â they have a great view of the farming hillside which is to die for. average price is about $11. and the food really is great. They even offer a kids menu. Â This place is funny but well worth stopping for. You can even go for just ice cream which is also local as well. the parking is great and picnik tables are outside to eat at if you chose to do so. Â If you don't like meat...eat the lamb! too funny.
