My husband and I come here quite often with our young boys. The food is incredible! We have tried many different items, and we have yet to be disappointed! The service is always great, and we love the environment. My husband and boys like watching sports on their TV's and coloring with the paper and crayons they give the kids. The owner is very sweet. The bar area is in a separate room, and looks fun, but ive never actually spent time in there. I always recommend Shorty's to family and friends! They usually already know about it though, and ive never heard any complaints! My fav: Philly cheese steak sandwich with onion rings ;)
Review Source:Driving into town from Yosemite at 9:30pm, few places were open and we expected this bar/grill to serve subpar beer food.
Wow, we were definitely wrong! Â The food was great, service was prompt, friendly and brisk. Â
Karen is truly a sweetheart and she made us feel welcome and helped beat back our travel fatigue with her smiles and food conversation.
I had the 1/2 ravioli and it was definitely a full dinner serving. I'm almost afraid of what the full plate looks like! Â The sauce is her mother in law's home recipe a it tastes like it! Hearty and very flavorful, the ravioli was cooked well and smallish, which I love. I hate a mouthful of pasta and nothing else, but it had a fat filling of cheese and wasn't a messy nightmare to eat.
My boyfriend had the shrimp scampi with rice pilaf and grilled vegetables. The veggies were cooked perfectly, crunchy and bright in color, not flavorless steamed stuff at all. Good portions too.
His mother had the fish basket with fries. The fish was tender and the batter was tasty. Huge portion, we could hardly finish it all together!
Awesome spot with a whopping 16 beers on tap. We're definitely coming back after our next Yosemite trip!
We've driven past this place many time's, finally stopped in. Â We were pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was great. The Reuben sandwich was among the best I've had. The burger was also a winner. (My wife & I shared because we each wanted to taste the Reuben and the burger.) Â Most of the beers were run of the mill but they had a few microbrews on tap that were very good. Â My wife loved the Pyramid Outburst. Â She was ticklishly surprised to find the alcohol content was 8.5. Â Silly girl. Oh, the homemade Coleslaw was also better than expected. Â We'll be back.
Review Source:We stopped here on our way through town. Friday night, not that busy while we were there. We were quite surprised to see a small town place with big city prices. If we hadn't ordered drinks we might have left. The food was good, however our server wasn't. They ran out of ice tea and were making more and through our mealtime it wasn't ever ready. She never came back and asked if we wanted something else. We finally had to ask someone else to get some water. Overall food good. Service was terrible.
