This is the place for you if you want some great fried Iowan food! It reminds me of what menus use to look like back in the late 80s before health was an issue..lol the staff is friendly and the log cabin feel and outdoor seating in the back just adds to the fun of this place. I think this is a great place to just let loose and have some drinks with family and friends!

Had lunch here this week with a big group.  They got all the orders right and everyone seemed to enjoy their food.  I had the Robert, a Rueben type sandwich with homemade corn beef, sauerkraut, mozzarella, jalapeno's and mayo.  It was very good but a bit messy.  Shuey's is the newer of the two bar & grills in this little town and are next door to each other.  It's done up right with lots of natural wood used on the bar, tables and walls.  There's lots of outdoor tables for parties although they don't usually serve outdoors.  I was here a couple summer's ago for a bicycle bar tour, it was perfect for that.

Try as we might, my wife and I always end up getting the same thing - Pulled Pork Sandwiches.

I don't know if they make the BBQ there or not, and I just don't care. They are large, tasty and come with a batch of suitably crinkly fries.

Service is always fast and friendly - whether eating in or taking it home.

Somebody let me know how the other food is, because I may never find out as long as the BBQ is on the menu.

Passing through for work, we're glad we came in for dinner.  Great bar food.  Had the calamari and Robert.  Co-worker got the Reuben. The calamari would probably not be ordered again, in favor of trying another basket of fried goodness.
Co-worker liked the Reuben.  The Robert was like a Reuben but with pepper jack and jalapenos.  the corned beef was amazing, one of the better reuben type sandwiches I've had.  Got the deviled egg potato salad with it...interesting, like egg salad and potato salad mixed.  But the sandwich stole the show.
Service was good and attentive.  Stephanie was our bartender and no complaints with her service or attitude.  She had me try a beer I had never heard of, 312 - it hit the spot for a pale ale/wheat beer
Ambiance was rustic and country (not trying to offend), kind of like a TX roadhouse.
All in all much better than the same old chains that we are forced to eat at in most places work takes us.  I would def go back.

For drinking:  nightly specials that range from jumbo margaritas to free drinks for the night (mon).

It's like a little log cabin inside with exceptional bar food. As far as bar food goes in the corridor, this is upper echelon.
