Excellent food, warm hospitality, fast and efficient service. Definitely worth a visit, even a bit of a detour. We had a vegetable plate, a lamb burger with feta, and the meatloaf, and for dessert the bourbon  pecan pie and chocolate layer- all perfect, and I should know since I tasted them all!

We happened upon it when we were exploring the area, and ended up with a great lunch (oyster po boys with homemade fries for me and sweet potato fries with jalapeno mayo for my husband), complete with local brews and peanut butter pie for our daughter. Review Source:If you're in or driving through Canton, you have to eat here. Food was terrific! We had a party of 8 and everyone loved their meal. Service was beyond 5 star. The owner even sat and talked with us for awhile. Truly a must eat place and price was excellent. I will eat here again and again!

Atmosphere is gorgeous, particularly in the bar and on the porch. Â Grab a "History Of" sheet and stroll through the old hotel after you eat.

If I were reviewing on food only, I probably would have gone with a 4 on this one. Â It was very tasty, reasonably priced, the sides were great, it just didn't knock me out of my seat with originality. Â That said, there's something to be said for being simple and delicious, and Sid's has that covered.
It's the service that makes it so great, though. Â They did forget our side of brussels sprouts, and it took a few minutes to get them, but everyone we encountered was very friendly and enthusiastic to help us. Â Our server was named Shelley, and she was just spectacular, truly a shining example of how to be a fantastic element of a good meal. Â
We had some perfectly cooked fried green tomatoes and pimento for an appetizer. Â I ordered the smothered chicken, and my wife the crab cakes (both at Shelley's request), and we were not disappointed. Â Both came with a complementary sauce that made them really flavorful. Â My sides of fried okra and grit cake were both delicious as well. Â
For dessert, I had some peanut butter pie that I was informed is made by the manager's wife. Â Local artwork on the walls, located in a piece of true Canton history, and honestly wonderful service mean I'll be making the drive to Haywood County again for this one.
Traveled to Canton on business and had the pleasure of lunching at Sid's. Â I had a salad with Blue Cheese crumbles and blackened angus. Â The freshness and quality was impecable and the price was very reasonable. Â We were not greeted imediately upon entering the restaurant, which was a bit awkward, since it is so large and we were not sure exactly where to go. Â However, once we were seated, we found the service to be of the highest quality, friendly, knowledgeable and responsive.
There are multiple dinning rooms available upon request for various sized groups. Â Some are private, other's are semi-private. Â One of those is a "lover's nook", which can be reserved for special occasions. Â They will even arrange for flowers to be delivered ahead of time. Â
Bathrooms are clean, parking is ample, kid friendly, great menu selection. Â If you are anywhere near Canton, NC, you owe it to yourself to check out this gem.
A very nice find in Canton  we drove over from. Asheville,  Had a wonderful. Meal  worth the short  drive.  Food. And service excellent in the beautiful old Imperial Hotel. They have outside seating and full bar. We will be back  I has the meatloaf  ans mu partner had  a Amazing. Salmon and beat. Special. Great prices, see you soon.
Review Source:Canton needs some additions to this little town & Sid did an excellent job on accomplishing this. Â The nicest restaurant in Canton so far with a dining room, bar area with a full bar serving beer, wine, & mixed drinks, along with outdoor seating as well. Service can be a little slow at times, but the food is excellent (with the exception of their baked chicken which had little flavor ). I've visited here multiple times already & ordered various things from their menu. Some of my favorites are the following: hamburger, salad, ruben & meatloaf sandwiches. I do encourage you to give this place a try. I will be back for sure.
