Silver Fox Inn

Stopped in yesterday with a few friends heading home from the beach.  Not quite sure what to say, but that if you are ever in the area, you HAVE to go in.  It is so creepy and from another time.  Foxy is awesome and she was drinking Wawa coffee and eating Tastycakes (they serve no food).  I recommend ordering beer as I ordered a vodka/orange juice and the OJ was rancid and I almost threw up on the bar, but the very old bartender told me that the cranberry was just opened and not spoiled! lol.  I will go back and take my husband and I give it 4-stars because I got a great story out of it :)

Three D's come to mind:

Dirty, Dilapidated Dive. Bring your own glass. Take a look at the old broken down Cadillac out front. If that doesn't give you an indication of what's inside, then you need to broaden your social circle.

This place is a legend in South Jersey, and for good reason. I'm pretty sure it used to be a mafia hangout back in the '60s and '70s. It's one of those places that you've always been curious about, but never had the testicular fortitude to actually go check out.

Well let me be your guiding light: GO CHECK IT OUT.

The cadillac has been parked outside Silver Fox for ages. Inside is big, though the bar is on the smaller side compared with the rest of the place. The bartenders are great; Joe is my favorite. When it gets late, and the bar's not too busy, challenge Joe to a game of pool. Actually, don't, because he'll mop the floor with you.

Foxy, the owner, can always be seen at her regular seat in the middle of the bar. She takes her meals, drinks her WaWa coffee, and occasionally chimes in on conversations. (The first time I came here, Foxy relayed a story about kicking out a group of nudists one night because they "weren't wearing shoes.")

They do not serve food. They do not serve specially crafted cocktails made with artisan liquors. The people pouring your drinks are not mixologists; they're bartenders. They're fun and they'll mix you a strong drink and they'll talk some South Jersey trash with you.

Darts, a pool table, and a jukebox with a pretty good selection. Always a friendly crowd.

This is a dive bar in its purest, most unadulterated form.
