Nothing but good things to say about this place and the owner.  Its close to Sugarbush with available shuttle service, has a great bar with great food and decent prices. Best of all it has a friendly party atmospere but is not really a place for families with kids unless you book the apartment upstairs. There was a good  live band playing at the bar the weekend of our stay. We'll definitely book at Slidebrook for our next riding trip to Sugarbuh.
Review Source:I can't speak for the overnight accommodations, but the service in the Tavern was TERRIBLE! Â I went with a large group. Â We had a delicious dinner across the street. Â And figured we'd walk over to Slide Brook for some after dinner drinks. Â Not only did the bartender take over 20 minutes to even acknowledge us...Then he held up his finger (giving the 'one minute' sign) and served a few other people. Â He then left the room, and came back 20 MORE minutes later...And STILL didn't even ask us what we wanted. Â We finally asked again...He gave us a rude sigh, and served us a round of drinks. Â Worst part is that the bar wasn't even crowded. Â I could see if he was over worked...But besides us, there were about 6 other people in the whole bar, so there was NO reason for such a long wait for a beer.
We probably would have stayed there all night and spent a lot of money if the service wasn't sooo terrible!!!
Five of us recently stayed at the Slide Brook Lodge and had a great time. Â We rented the 5 bed private apt upstairs (the efficiency) for about $200 with tax. Â At $40/person/night, this was an unbeatable deal. Â The private apt can house five or even six (if two people share a full bed). Â
The apartment was perfect for us. Â The beds were really comfortable, and the kitchen was great for breakfast in the morning before hitting the slopes, and the washer/dryer helped to dry wet gloves. Â There was a large flatscreen tv and comfortable living room (shared with the other hotel guests, but we never saw anyone using it) and also a really great outdoor hottub that we used everyday. Â Sugarbush is a mile away (and there's a bus stop across the street from the lodge).
On the ground floor of the lodge is crowded tavern with great live music, and a foosball table. Â Sometimes the music would be audible from the room, but it was never a huge problem.
Alex took good care of us and made great suggestions on things to do/eat in the area. Â He was also nice enough to let us checkout in the late afternoon (which meant we could shower before our long drive home on our last day of skiing).
Besides our private apt upstairs, the other rooms of the lodge are small and bare and hostel-like. Â Check the website for pictures of those.
You wouldn't call this place luxurious per se, but for a group of young people it's perfect -- really comfortable and affordable and got the job done. Â Highly recommended.
