We tried Smokin' Burgers for the first time last night and had a great time. The atmosphere is cozy, the burgers and martinis were excellent, and Therese behind the bar took wonderful care of us. Very genuinely nice person with a great sense of humor and very professional. She made us feel very welcome and told us about the specials and nightly entertainment. We will definitely be back.

Awesome. Yummy, fast service, good food, great waiter ( chris I think), and live entertainment.

The burgers here are amazing!  It's a small place with great food and great service!  Kids had mini burger sliders on brioche.  They enjoyed every bite.

My husband ordered the Tropical Aloha Burger and I tried the Bleu Cheese Burger.  Both were excellent choices. The flavors were perfectly balanced. We also had an order of calamari for appetizers.  The calamari was light and flavorful....we can't wait to go back.

Believe the hype!  The MOST incredible burger I've found in 9 years of living in the desert.  Definitely going back.  Kelly, the bartender, was a joy.  Fries could have used a few more minutes in the fryer, but burger so good, who cares?

Beyond the fantastic burgers, the service was excellent, overall very clean, HUGE screens to watch your favorite game, good parking and a fun atmosphere.  What I liked most is that  Smokin' Burgers is more intimate and sophisticated than other local sports bars.

Definitely now my go-to place to watch any sports event or just to have a ridiculously awesome burger :-)

What a find!  Been back several times - love the food, the service, and the musician - Ron James.   The owner, Pete, really knows how to run a restaurant.  My husband and I were there this evening and had the best fish tacos we have ever had.

My wife and I went there to watch the Kings hockey playoff game on Saturday.  We give it five stars based on service and vibe. It is well designed to watch sports, the staff were friendly and it has good food.  We live in Orange County and were here visiting Palm Springs; we found Smokin' Burgers on Yelp.

If you are looking for fine dinning this is not the place; if you want a sports bar, nice people, and good bar food this it a great place.  We had the Cosmo and the Alaskan Amber, and enjoyed both.

Try the potato salad, we learned from the owner (Jim) that it is a family recipe - we loved it.

We had a blast. Walked across the street from the Saguaro looking for a late dinner. The limited late night menu was really a bummer, and by limited I mean if you want a burger a plain cheeseburger is your only option. I would like to go back and check out the regular menu.  Cheeseburgers and onion rings were absolutely perfect. Love their onion rings they have a unique flavor. On Thursday and Sunday nights they have karaoke.

My friend and I stumbled upon this place by mistake and boy , were we glad we stopped. We were standing in front of the restaurant discussing about going to the place next-door and the owner came out and brought us a menu and encouraged us to take a look. She smiled at each other and figured "what the heck". When we went inside we were immediately greeted by very warm personable employees.

Our waiter Chris quickly pointed out that we were there during happy hour and showed us the items on the menu that were five dollars and what drinks qualified for happy hour and suggested a martini.
I ordered the combination cheeseburger and rib plate my gosh the food was absolutely spectacular! I thought I had died and gone to heaven! The funny thing is the night before I had gone to Babe's barbecue in Rancho Mirage and had ordered a full rack of ribs-And I was very dissatisfied with them it was like I was trying to fight to get the meat off the bone. When I took a bite of the ribs at smoking burgers .....holy cow ! or shall I say holy pig ! it was the most succulents tender flavorful rib I've had in years! Chris our waiter, as well as the owner Peter came by her table several times to make sure we were happy we felt very welcomed the busboy made sure our drinks were constantly filled . I have to say I haven't had such great service in I couldn't tell you how long. I can't believe I have not come across this place sooner-Being a local born and raised in Palm Springs I have to say this is one of my new top five favorite restaurants. I was also pleased to see if they have live entertainment on Wednesday Thursday Friday I think and on Tuesday they have jazz music which makes me jump up and down for joy because I'm such a jazz lover.

Five  stars are not enough stars to give this fantastic burger joint. In addition they also have a full bar and I counted at least four or five televisions all on sports. I definitely will be recommending this place to everyone I know. The owner Keats was so friendly and came by just to check to make sure that we were happy with everything and we got involved in a light discussion and he even sent over a complementary piece of chocolate cake -which by the way was fantastic and served with fresh berries. I have to say this is Palm Springs best burger joint ......it far surpasses Tyler's. They have a new fan in me.

After all the rave reviews, I been dying to try this place...either the people who rave about how wonderful the hamburgers are here really haven't ventured out or Smokin' Burgers just had a bad day. The service staff was one of the downfalls, the (2) waitresses that were managing the patio were horrible. One of the reasons why I will not be returning, I only say the our waitress three times, the second waitress, who was managing the table right next to us, ignored us the whole time...the food was okay, the hamburger, which I ordered MR, was closer to rare. The fries nothing special, another frozen potato, overcooked in the fryer, which was a pittance of a side-dish.

FOOD PRESENTATION. Each food item was arranged on the plate with hip, knowledgable chef finesse. It's what magazine covers strive for.
FOOD TASTE. Proper temperature, texture, mouth-watering flavor and "first bite" experience.
FOOD ENVIRONMENT. Pleasant. Dim and cool inside. Bright outdoor patio outside.
SERVICE. Prompt, friendly, not overbearing. Professional staff didn't walk up to the table like redneck waiters asking service questions ("everything ok here? can i get you anything else?" etc etc) while we were in good conversation. They knew to hover by and make gentle eye contact.

Been wanting to try this place so we stopped in for a couple cold ones. The place was fairly busy but no excuse for the bartender joe's attitude. He was either having a bad day or maybe he should seek a different line of work. We liked the atmosphere and non-trashy crowd and will return to eat. Saw some amazing burgers come out and I wished I hadn't eaten. Hopefully someone else will be working the bar or we will just get a table. I don't want to downgrade a new business trying to get started too much because of one employee.

My favorite thing about going to Smokin' Burgers is the service I get from server Suzanne and bartender Terese. Both are courteous, professional, and attentive to their customers. They are the finest assets of this establishment. Always look forward to having them wait on me :)

One of those amazing surprise finds. The gf and I were in PS for our anniversary weekend and had just finished the guided hike at Taquitz Canyon (which was awesome)...We both were hungry and Smokin' sounded good. So glad we did!

Service was great, with all 3 women we dealt with were friendly and helpful. We ordered the burger and rib combo along with the Chinese Chicken Salad and split it all. Perfect portions and everything was delicious!

Pricing was good, great atmosphere and friendly service...HIGHLY recommended!

Burger was OK but nothing special. Barely adequate amount of fries... and I'm a light eater. Atmosphere was loud, one could say even noisy. Service was fine and food arrived quickly. Doesn't anybody serve a burger on a bun that's been on the grill anymore? Doubtful that I'll return.

I am so sad to be giving this relatively new neighborhood bar and restaurant such a low score, but I was so embarrassed yesterday when we took friends to our favorite hamburger joint.  Arrived at 1130 and one table on patio filled and no one inside.  After waiting more than 10 minutes for our drinks I had to point out our drinks to our waiter who seemed to be clueless.  The hot wonderful onion rings we had devoured the week before were left on the plate because the were literally black around the sides and too cold to enjoy.  We would have sent them back but our servers did not come and check on us!  The burgers were still delicious but we will certainly hesitate to brag on our neighborhood bar for awhile.  Felt as though no one there knew what was going on...

I have been to Smokin' Burgers several times during football season and our waiter, Chris, always treated us well and the food was consistently good. Tonight I took my parents there and it was the first time I'd gone in the evening- Chris greeted us warmly and was very attentive, and my folks loved the food! My mom and I had the avocado BLT (chipotle sauce gives it a great kick!) and my dad had the mushroom burger. We'll definitely go back!

This place is a cool, local burger joint in south Palm Springs.  It's pricey (10 dollar burgers, 6 dollar pints) but a good place if you want a very unique burger.  You can get everything from Chipotle pulled pork sandwiched to goat cheese and applewood bacon cheeseburgers.  The burgers are HUGE so watch out - you'll definitely have some left overs.

The beer selection is mediocre at best.  Budweiser, Bud Light, Alaskan, and Shock Top.  They used to have Fat Tire but I don't know what happened to it.  The interior is dark with lot's of TV's and is a good place to watch CFB of NFL games on the weekend.

We went to Smokin' Burgers for a Sunday afternoon lunch and sat outside.   It was our first visit to the restaurant but we had walked by the restaurant many times.

The food was okay but unfortunately the service brought down this rating.

For the record, this is a sports bar and there was lots of activity going on inside which might be one of the reasons that we were lost in the shuffle sitting outside.

We had to ask for water and we sent back our first cups of coffee as the coffee was cold.   We also had to ask for milk (instead of creme) several times.

I ordered the Southwest Burger and my my wife ordered the Portabella burger.   My wife enjoyed her Portabella but I thought my burger was just okay.   To the server's credit, she suggested that I add the grilled pineapple to the burger.

Would I go back?  I am really not sure because I was quite underwhelmed.

    First time there today.

    Food- 3.5 stars
    Service- 3 stars

Being a bit generous on both, perhaps.

SERVICE--Walked in, no one said hello, came to seat me, etc.  After a few minutes I walked further in, server said "sit anywhere, I'll be right with you".  He was never "with me", despite having time to goof around and talk to other employees.  Another server came over a little bit later, asked if I would like a menu, I said yes, she returned a few minutes later with menu, and asked if I would like a drink.  (seemed backward to me, but anyway).  A few minutes after my glass was bone dry empty, she came by and asked if I would like another soda...I replied yes, with my mouth full of food, and she then asked what I was having.  She should know, she served me...or take a look at your order pad.

FOOD--Burger was actually pretty good, but bun was a soft, messy disaster.  It essentially disintegrated while I was eating, so I ended up eating part of the burger with my hand holding the meat, and then I just gave up and ate it with knife/fork.  That I didn't enjoy at all.  Fries were well done...too well done for  my taste...bit too much like crispy potato chips.

Went to Smokin Burgers today with some friends for a late afternoon bite to eat! Greeted by a friendly smiling Hostess and Waitress named Amber! She brought us to a beautiful comfortable booth. Surrounded by some great flat screens all around us!
Not a bad seat in the house for sports! And we scored on a incredible Happy Hour too! Chris our waiter told us that we arrived just in time for Happy Hour! He alerted us to a section in the menu that has about 10 different items for just 5.00 dollars! We indulged ourselves and had some amazing Cantina Sliders that came with fry's! It was excellent! My friend had a Chicken Casadia and it came with fresh avocado on top! Very tasty! Along with some incredible drink specials too!
As we sat and enjoyed the great eats and drinks! We noticed that the place was jumping with locals and tourist from the neighboring hotels. If you don't know the place it is centrally located on South Sunrise inside the Smoke Tree Shopping Center on the corner of East Palm Canyon Drive and Sunrise. Across the street from Saguaro hotel. I must say that the service was top notch! Between Amber watching over us and Chris our waiter they both attended to our every need! As we sat and enjoyed the beautiful crowd of people. We saw local musician Ron James getting ready to lay down the jams on the keyboard. Ron came by the table to let us know to stick around for some fun! At the bar we noticed Joe the bartender just coming on duty! If you don't know Joe he is one of the top bartenders in town! If you have not noticed from my review that this place is defiantly a locals bar & Lounge! And Yes I am going to say it! "Where everybody knows your name!" Defiantly recommend this place! Owner operators Jimmy and Pete are always on hand to make sure your visit is a memorable one!

I'm kinda disappointed. When I saw that a burger bar was coming to town I was excited. However, I have been let down. My wife and I have given this place several chances to redeem them selves only in a failing effort. Service is poor. We were there two nights ago with a friend and the sever took our Oder and never stopped by again after that. Normally it would bother me but they got our Oder wrong drinks were empty and we ask 3 different people for water... 3 time is a charm I guess. The burgers aren't that great for services to be that weak. It's a nice spot for sports if you aren't out numbered by golf enthusiast.

We were there on a Saturday evening and were treated to a good ensemble with a fine lead singer singing 50's and 60's music, so things were looking up. Service was friendly and efficient which was also a plus.
The problem was the cheeseburger I ordered and the turkey burger my wife ordered were no more than mediocre at best. My burger was cooked well beyond the medium rare I ordered and the accompanying fries were good but unremarkable. The restaurant is kept quite dark so it's difficult to read the menu or to see the food presented, which is probably for the best.
Call me crazy, but I'd think its easy enough to make a great burger that a place specializing in burgers should perform much better than this. I may try it again, because it was a friendly and efficient neighborhood place, but I'd trade a portion of their good service for better food.

When this restaurant first opened the chef was primo! Perfectly cooked food and a great menu. I've been there too many times since and each time more disappointed then the last. Not with the service, which has been great aside from very last time. (waitress was off in her own little lala world)

We have all since agreed that there will not be a return visit from us again, no matter how convenient it is.

I've heard through the local rumor mill, the original chef was fired, Don't know what he did to get fired but he was a wanker to screw up. We patrons depended on his tasty eats.

I do adore most of the staff as they do treat us like family when we walk in. But the food Now, it's just blah!

We went there thinking there was going to be some Karaoke after we ate...they've cancelled it!  The burgers were fair and so were the fries and the onion rings.  The atmosphere was pubbie and sportsbarish.  I would go there again for football on tv.  Seems to be a nice neighborhood place to watch whatever game is on.

I should have known it was a bad sign when I asked the server what the sliders were like and she told me "they aren't very good".
When "burger" is in your name, I really don't expect to hear a server say that!!
I decided to try the cheese-steak sandwich...... that wasn't very good either!
Sandwiches don't come with fries? WTH?
Well some do, some don't. Not sure the logic on that.
I had to order them on the side and they were pretty good. The rest of the food was blah!

This place was not impressive. Not for the food anyway.
Go for the bar.......... not for the food.

I noticed the management/ owner was much nicer to the 'regulars' and didn't seem to even care about any of the other customers in the place.
Doubt I would come back. Many better places in town!

I went in and sat at the bar solo. Bartender asked if I wanted a drink. I said no. He said why are you at the bar? I said because I'm solo and didn't want to take a table. I ordered a burger pink in the middle. He said I can only do Medium or Medium Rare in the computer. I asked if he could tell the cook since everyone has a different idea of Medium etc. He said no because they speak Spanish and I speak English. So I cancelled my order and left.

Eh nice building, burger nothing special, frys were good. That is it in a nut shell. Let me dig deeper. Only mistake that was quickly corrected once pointed out, was that the bus boy that refilled my Diet soda, must have hit the Tonic button first then switched to diet.  It tasted bad, I flagged down the waitress and she fixed that.  I only mention that if other have the same problem. I doubt it but just figured I would mention it.

On this vist, (we stopped by opening week also) I figured I would try a burger and my partner ordered the Turkey sandwich, Which the waitress mentioned was one of her favorites.  After she left I joked, should I have ordered the Burger.  I would also like to mention if you get away from a burger or cheese burger, the prices go up over $11 kind of on the high side for mushrooms or a slice of pineapple, or some other "added" feature.

Our lunches showed up in a reasonable time. I found my burger without much flavor, not sure if they didn't S&P it while cooking, but it just didn't have that yummy beef burger taste.  It was nourishment, but not really memorable. Lets talk about the bun,  I still think Palm Springs is missing a crusty bulky roll for a burger, bring some crunch and flavor to the bread. Their bread was white/yellow, soft and crumbly like a day or two old burger buns, It didn't hold together while I was eating the burger.

My dining partner said his turkey sandwich was ok, but again, it was turkey on cranberry bread.  The bread looked really good, and I kept asking him does the bread taste as good as it looked.  He just wasn't interested, kept telling me its ok, though sad, never offered a corner of the bread to check for myself.  He was its a turkey sandwich. Something one can make at home and not need a reason to go out and have somebody else make it for them.

To me, their burger was nothing special, In a blind test I bet I couldn't tell if it was from SB&L or Johns, or The Grind.  In my opinion, Tyler's still has the best tasting burger in town, though they too need a crusty bun.

The Wife and I first visited for a cocktail.  Somewhat limited hard liquor selection but the beers on draft make up for those limitations.  No Hendrick's Gin so I switched to a Beefeater and went dirty.  The drink was well made and not over the top in quantity.  Sometimes, less is more...  They have a very nice happy hour with reasonable prices on food and beverages.  As we were sitting at the bar enjoying our cocktails, a fellow sitting next to us ordered a "One Pound Hot Dog".  It looked amazing and he confirmed its deliciousness between mumers of culinary pleasure.
So, we returned the following day for lunch and ordered said hot dog.  It was very good; nice snap to the dog, the bun was fresh and the fixings (mustard, ketchup, sweet relish, tomato, onion and sport peppers) all added to the quality and enjoyment.  This dog is huge so spitting one was just fine for us.  We added a side order of the potato salad and it was also delicious - not too much mayonnaise and a hint of sour cream flavor.  While the small portion of the side was perfect as a compliment to the hot dog, the $3.50 price tag seemed a bit steep.
We definitely will return and it's very nice to see this addition to the Smoke Tree Shopping Center.  Staff was attentive without being overbearing and everything is neat and tidy.  A couple of suggestions for management: Please do consider adding a few more quality hard liquor brands to your alcohol inventory, like Hendrick's and a quality rum, such as Mt. Gay or Appleton.  In a perfect world, you'd also include a rye whiskey for Manhattans.  Also, if you're becoming a sports bar by default, then don't have all the TV's on the same channel.  We know that you just opened and are still working out the cable specs, but wanted to toss that out nevertheless.
Good luck and we'll see you again!

Okay, this is the best new burger place in town. Their potato salad is a great choice if you're not up for fries.

Lately, there has been a terrible trend in burgers where OTHER places will only cook your burger med-well or well done. Well, get ready for a shocker -- these burgers are made how you want them, not how THEY want them, which I love.

Kick ass burger and a nice sports bar decor. Bravo, Smokin' Burgers! Keep up the great work!
