Wish I could give a 0. Food was terrible.... How do you screw up Truffle Fries?! Drinks were cheap. Waiting staff was rude, slow & incompetent. Filling waters was too tough, she had to bring a pitcher to let us fill our own water... when that was empty, it stayed empty the rest of the meal. Also 1/2 the tables had dirty dishes stacked up when we walked in... classy.
Save yourself the soggy bottom & go across the street to the Garage.
In a small Midwestern town, you would not expect outrageously hostile behavior. Yet, one $200 lunch over a lovely holiday weekend brought the rudest behavior I have ever encountered in customer service. The bartender, or perhaps owner, would not split a check and told us the only way he could do so was if we got on his machine ourselves and did it (after we itemized the bill for him).
The restaurant was empty and the man just could not be bothered to lift a finger for well-playing clients. Had he said there was a policy for split checks or multiple cards, we wouldn't have minded. Instead, he told us we were bad clients after we asked why he had treated us so poorly.
If you would like friendly service and considerate wait staff, go to the far-superior Garage restaurant across the street. This man was an absolute nightmare and should not be interacting with customers in any way.
This was my experience at the Soggy Dollar: I liked my food, not sure about the name but I did enjoy my my time at the restaurant. Good fries and burger and the service was pretty good. Not the best because we waited a while and then they way overcooked my burger. The decor is new and nice. It is pretty typical bar food but a little more upscale. I came back a second time and this time I got the white fish. That was much better than I got last time. So of you enjoy this kind of food and want some place to hang out with friends this is a great choice in good ol' Northport.
Review Source:New restaurant in town, remodeled from what used to be Stubbs. The service was wonderful and the food and presentation were absolutely great! The walleye special was some of the best I've ever had. Nicely remodeled interior with attractive booths and the "porch" is great for upscale dining experience. This review would have been 5 stars except for the prices. Entrees were expensive and no dinner salad. Wines by the glass were prohibitive.
