Son's House of Barbecue

There isn't anything healthy about this place, but there's everything delicious about it.

The barbeque sandwiches are amazing. The burgers are always cooked well. Well, I don't mean well. They'll cook it however you like it. I should say correctly. They have a few different sauces to choose from, which is nice. Their onion rings are one of my favorite things. I'm not even a fan of cocunut cake.. but theirs I love.

They have a sister restaurant next door called Copper Penny which serves amazing breakfasts Thurs - Sun. Awesome sweet and savory meals. They even have chocolate gravy on the menu. God help my waistline.

The reason this delicious place gets 3 stars is because of their new business hours. I understand only having a breakfast place open Thursday-Sunday, but Son's just changed their hours to match Copper Penny. They were always closed on Mondays but to get rid of the other two days is very disappointing. According to the staff, it's because the owners are tired. I understand it can be difficult to run two businesses, but more staff should be hired before you deprive a small town of good BBQ.

My family and I eat at Son's BBQ quite regularly. The staff is always friendly, accomodating, and they keep our drink glasses full. The food is usually great. I can only think of may be one time that the food might have been a little subpar greasy.. that was the ribs, but you can pretty much expect that, esp at a BBQ establishment. We have ate the catfish, BBQ, smoked chicken, beef brisket, BBQ salads, baked potatoes etc. Their cheeseburgers are terrific! They are HUGE at 1/2 lb and taste like an old-fashioned, homemade burger!  If you like your BBQ a certain way, be sure to let your waiter know.  If you don't, you may end up with chopped, instead of pulled or sliced.  They will do their best to accomodate you, if you have a preference.  Try one of their fried pies with a scoop of ice cream for dessert!!  They are awesome!!  We really enjoy the food, service and prices, and will definitely continue to eat there!

Ok BBQ the staff could take some lessons on how to treat their customers. They opened a place for breakfast just next door so the staff at the copper penny is the same wait staff so same slow and rude servers.
