So the story for coming to this place is that my sister wanted to go and hang with me, her brother, while I was in town. She wanted to go to a "classy" place. And I know my sister and I know how I am, and I don't envision myself or my sis as classy. So I was 1 scared of being underdressed, or 2 scared about the definition of classy.
Well it was classy in one sense, but more so just like a lounge bar ... in Utica of all places. I thought it was actually pretty cool. Pretty cool setup, like most places in the area, a long but narrow building with a loft upstairs overlooking the bar. It had a dance floor upstairs with a bunch of couches (I was digging the couches). The drinks were not bad either. Not a fan of mixed drinks but the martinis sounded quite good and from what my sis and her friends were saying, they were. I was impressed by the beer selection. They had 3 philosophers on tap ? Usually I only can find the bottle if that. Well sadly this night I found the same (they just emptied it while pouring me a pint) but still, it was a shock to see.
I am not a fan of the dance floor but I think as an early bar for after dinner drinks this would be a pretty chill place. And if you are wondering, "Classy" means basically, NOT a dive bar where some jerk is trashed crawling on everyone. It was sort of grundge but at the same time chill, not violins classy or anything. Just a chill place in general.
Kudos sis.
