In LOVE with this place!  We only wish we had one like this at home!

Awesome crowd (95% older gay men, 99% gay men in general, 1% straight girls - aka us) - so friendly and fun!  Loved how there was a very civil line to get drinks at the bar.  Bartenders were super nice and made some mean drinks.  Drinks were large, strong and cheap, just the way we like em! The screens showing showtunes were brilliant and so much fun!  Went on a Saturday night and it was already packed by 10pm (it was Memorial Day weekend though, so not sure what it's like normally), but wasn't hard to get a drink and find a spot to stand.

Will definitely be back next time I'm in PS!!

Gay bar + musical sing-a-longs + stiff drinks = a rather interesting evening.

While I can't say it's my favorite combo, it's definitely a unique one to see in the flesh. Since the musical mashup videos take center stage, all eyes are fixated on the screens, so there's a lack of energy you'd expect from such a Birdcage charade, and even when everyone's singing and hand gesturing like Italian drag queens, there's no "we're all in this together" group vibe to boost the mood.

Also, vanilla vodka and pineapple juice should never touch ones lips at the same time.

I'd imagine if you crossed Elton John with Brokeback Mountain you would probably end up with this place.

Dress code for the guys include: cowboy hat, cowboy boots, jeans, the most obnoxious belt buckle you own and a shirt (which is actually optional). Whether you have a six pack, a one pack or a hairy pack, just let it all hang out, this bar seems to be about showing off ALL your assets.

Dress code for the women. What women??? Other than my sister and myself the next closest thing to a woman were the drag queens.

Spurline was quite an experience, its definitely not your typical bar scene, this place was wall to wall men dressed in there scandalous low rise denim, drinking, mingling and synchronized square dancing to Lady Gaga.

This bar can be fun, or annoying, depending on the night you attend.  They have 2 for 1 cocktails on Wednesday nights along with country music videos which is a plus.  But Friday and Saturday when the locals and tourists pour in for the videos of show tunes, it's just a too crowded mess of people.  You can have a lot of fun, if you don't mind the pushing and shoving, and errant drunks that fall out of their chairs.

Hey -- this was a fun gay bar.   Older crowd, but very friendly.  They have video screens and have some fun traditions during certain songs (mostly Broadway or classic Hollywood scenes).  For example, during the song "Be Italian" from Nine, they pass out tamborines.

Strong drinks and even as a visitor, they remembered what I ordered.

You know, sometimes I wonder if there is a gay man locked inside of me, because I LOVE me some show tunes.  Like really love them.  My friends and I randomly stopped by on a Saturday night while in Palm Springs to find musical numbers being played on the monster TV screen!  I was in heaven!  The drinks were cheap (in price) but strong in flavor.  Everyone was enjoying the musical numbers and singing along.  Bartenders and patrons alike were friendly.   What's not to love?  I only wish I lived in Palm Springs so that I could go more often!

After briefly checking out the neighborhood bar options, we ended up at SpurLine for a good deal of our evening. I'm so grateful that fate brought us to this little diamond in the rough because it brought me so much joy.

    What's not to love?

    * Cocktails that pack a punch and are heavily poured ......  yes!

    * Courteous and friendly bartenders...................................... Yes!

    * Show tunes on large, flat screen display............................ YES!

    * Spacious and relatively clean................................................ Y E S!!

It's really hard for me to imagine anyone not enjoying themselves at SpurLine. I did have one rather embarrassing moment when I began to clap profusely after watching Sarah Brightman on the video screen sing "The Phantom of the Opera," one of my all-time musical favorites. It wouldn't have been embarrassing had I not been the only one cheering and clapping after her performance, but, luckily, no one seemed to care.  That's what happens when you have too many well-made Manhattans.

SpurLine was a great time that I can't wait to experience again.

what a charming place in PS

ger ger and i spent most of our friday evening there.

where else can you have drinks and watch clips of your favorite broadway movies?  when else will you sing "THE HILLS ARE ALIVE.... WITH THE SOUND OF MUSIC..." or see hugh jackman singing tunes from Oklahoma while getting drunk?

    loved it.

also the bartenders there were really professional and friendly.  they really know what they are doing and made the best drinks and always gave extra lime wedges and cherries without being asked.

Went there last Tue night for TNSC (Tuesday Night Social Club), a large group of gay guys that meet socially on a weekly basis at different establishments.  Thinking there must have been at least 100+ in attendance for TNSC and Spurline did not hire any extra bartenders ... they only had 2.  So the lines were VERY long and it was extremely crowded along the narrow edge (north side) of the bar (they need a better configuration).  We stayed there the length of our drinks (and the raffle), then got out.

This place is so much fun!  I will admit I didn't know any of the video's that were up.  I guess I need to watch the Tony Awards.  Had something called the Cherry Bomb...brain freeze anyone?  lol
    Oh, Oh....Austin was awesome.

Stumbled across this place with a couple of friends while exploring downtown PS. Fun crowd, lots of space, karaoke. Jason the bartender is possibly the best bartender that has ever waited on me. Super friendly, fun, great sense of humor, and way cute to boot.

My favorite bar on Arenas, and doesn't cater to any specific "sub-genre" of gay. Staff is always super friendly and fast, drinks are well-priced.. and they have alcoholic slurpees!! If you're looking for somewhere to go on a Monday night, Spurline is always packed.

Chris very nice and the only bar that made me feel very welcome coming from dc. Very hard coming from a big city to here. The staff has made me feel to give palm springs a chance before going back to dc.

This was my first time here and I must say I enjoyed it! This place was warm and friendly. Everyone here is nice and very welcoming. It doesn't matter what is your sexual preference as long as you come here with an open mind and open heart!
People here are very welcoming and the people are very entertaining...and the drinks are not bad at all!
I would come here again the next time I'm in Palm Springs! Hope you guys will enjoy this place as much as me and my girlfriends did on our girls night out!

I had bookmarked this place originally because my gay husband and I were heading to Palm Springs for Presidents Day weekend and I thought it would be fun to try something new.  What is different from this lounge compared to the other one's that I have been to so far...they show great music video clips from movies and musical theater on their big screen TV's!!!!  It was wonderful...such a good time!

Although this is located in downtown Palm Springs prominent gay district, it isn't just for gays, there were quite a few straight people there as well having a blast!  It wasn't like some of the gay bars here in LA where a straight man might get hit on like crazy because he gives off a straight aura, if that makes sense to anyone, the straights were left in peace to enjoy their time at SpurLine.

The ambiance is fun and energetic because the bartenders sing and dance to the videos as they are making your drinks...so, you get great live entertainment and TV entertainment at the same time as they are making their fabulously strong drinks.  Speaking of their drinks, they were dirt cheap compared to LA standards.  My friend Danny (gay husband) got a Kettle One and Soda water for like $4.75!!!!  I don't think that it was happy hour either, even if it was, that is still crazy cheap!  The place is clean and spacious enough where you don't feel claustrophobic unlike some other smaller lounges.

I will definitely be a regular here...well, every time I visit Palm Springs!

Great video bar with quite a mix they show. The best is Friday nights when you can do a gay check on yourself and see how many of the showtunes you can sing along with. The bartenders are cute, friendly, and are very efficient. The crowd is a good mix of all gaydom had to offer with some extras thrown into the mix. I think that showtunes are the great equalizer and helps with the vibe of the bar, most people know or like at least a few showtunes (despite some protestations otherwise) and helps everyone relax and not try and be pretentious. Also does Glee night.

OMG - we had the GREATEST time at SpurLine!  Drinks were great, people were super friendly and fun...  It's my new favorite place!

The locals didn't treat us like tourists, and were genuinely friendly and curious.  I appreciate folks who aren't afraid to strike up a conversation with strangers.  We've been there a few times now, and always meet new & interesting people - we have never had a bad experience there.

If you want to sit around with a bunch of 50+ year old gay men and sing along to showtunes being blasted on the TV then this is your place.

A little too Gay for us, and I don't mean that in a bad way.

We have always had fun spending time at Spurline and their changing entertainment.  When we are in town we always plan to meet up with friends for the Showtunes nights...or pretty much just to meet up.

The staff is friendly and up for a chat if they are not to busy.  Various entertainment and specials can be found here each night of the week.

If you are in the area I recommend stopping in.

This weekend was my first time visiting Spurline and I had the best time!!  I never knew that broadway musical loving, rocky horror picture show freaks like me actually had a home here on this planet.

I got to visit a couple of times on this visit and next time Im here I will definitely stop in again.

Chris is the nicest bartender. Drinks are generous! The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. Mostly a boys bar, but women will feel very welcome.

I like it for their Sunday night showtunes evening.  Its fun and they get everyone involved.  Felt bad one day though as they only had one bartender and both cash registers died on him.  When he finally got to me, some chick, tried to move in and order before me.  I waited at least 20 minutes to get served and have someone "fat ass" their way in; sorry, I laid down the law on that one really fast.

Other than that, I had a great time as always.  My second time there.

This bar is girl friendly so that's good for me :)

Like some reviewers before me stated...looks like this place is a locals hang out. Came here on Sunday which I assume its a show tune night because that's wall they were playing on the TV screens.

Everyone ordered their own small pitcher of Pyramid Heffenweissen (sp?) at $8, such a great deal. And I'm so glad for that because it helped us sit through some not so great show tunes! I was hoping for something more lively but who knows maybe people do enjoy songs from Peter Pan?!

This is a great local hangout here in Palm Springs.  While I'm not a big fan of their always popular showtune nights (Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays), this is one of the most laidback places to grab a cocktail and be able to sit down and relax and talk to friends or meet new people.

It's a fun environment, and the staff is wonderful. If you like karaoke, they have it twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays.  If not, remember that Tuesdays and Wednesdays are "twofer" days, so you get two cocktails for the price of one (don't lose the paper receipt they give you).

Had a nice time here.  The videos are great fun when they play scenes from movie musicals.  I don't think they do that every night but I happened to hit it on "showtunes night".  The locals sing along or talk back at the screen.  The place was packed.  They handed out napkins for Madonna's "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" number.  Everyone waves them at the end and tosses them in the air.  It's very much like the Rocky Horror Show, but I think it would get tiresome to go often.  The next night I stopped in again and they were showing regular music videos.  There were three people in the place.  Bleah.

Spurline tends to be a hangout for locals, but can also be a fun place to grab a drink, have a seat, sit back and watch Videos and Comedy shorts.

From musicals like Westside Story and Dreamgirls... to cult movies like Rocky Horror ... to skits on Mad TV and Saturday Night Live, Spurline can be a nice alternative to the other clubs in PS.

The bartenders where friendly (often singing along with the videos) and the drinks were decent and not too expensive.

My recommendation would be for the bar to mix things up a bit and have at least one or two nights a week where there are fewer videos and more MUSIC videos (with comedy clips mixed in).  That's a practice at the bars here in S. Florida and seems to work very well.

Fun musical numbers/showtunes on the TV all night.  I came here with a girl friend because everywhere else was dead already - it was Friday and 11 PM and the Palm Springs strip seemed DEAD!!!!

We followed two gay guys to this place.  They said there would be karaoke.  Not that it mattered but there wasn't any when we got there.  There were 4 females and about 60 gay guys.  Ha.

Anyway, I love musicals and they had Rocky Horror, Victor/Victoria, Barbara Streisand, The Music Man videos on the TVs.  It was fun!

It was also very odd.  Most bars have commotion, laughter, conversation, people, squeezing by each other and generally some BAR-like activity.  (There was even a pool table here but no balls - it was being used as a table!)  But here, in contrast, every patron was watching the TV and the only movement was the bartender moving around getting beers.  It was eerie and odd.

Four stars because this was the one bar I had the most fun at in Palm Springs (I also went to Village Pub, Alternate Route, and left/didn't go into Zeldaz cuz they ACTUALLY wanted 10 dollar cover - paw-Leez!)

The guys we went with were very nice and the videos were fun.  Don't expect a nightlife comparable to San Diego or risk disappointment.

Barbara Streisand is alive and well at the Spurline! Or at least, the drag queen who does Barbara is alive and well.

I hadn't been to a bar which has drag queens in a long time. Last night (Saturday) the ladies were out and in force belting out the tunes. Surprisingly, the one real woman cocktail waitress got on the stage and sang with her real voice and did a great job while the other "ladies" changed costumes.

The atmosphere was friendly, drinks reasonably priced. Want to see some of your favorite leading ladies? Check out the Spurline.
