Do not let the creepy mannequin in the photo for this place fool you.  Stagecoach Deli is really, really good and not even remotely creepy.  I stopped here with some coworkers on our way from east Texas back to Austin and from the moment we walked in the door I fell in love with this place.  It oozes quintessential tiny town Texas charm.  The front room with the stagecoach motif was packed with what looked like regular customers so we were seated in the tea room in back, which was adorable.  The hostess who greeted us was also our waitress and she was incredibly warm and friendly.  I think the most surprising thing on the menu was a vegan burger since vegan food is not something I tend to associate with restaurants like this, but there it was.  I ended up ordering a combination plate of half a sandwich and salad as well as a cup of soup.  The sandwich was "Belle's Chicken Salad" and it was delicious as was the "Orient Express Salad" it came with.  The cup of chicken and dumpling soup was also divine.  My coworkers were likewise pleased with their food, from the cheddar broccoli soup to the loaded baked potato.  The entrees were so good that we went ahead and ordered dessert to split at the table.  We got a brownie a la mode, a peach cobbler, and our gluten-intolerant coworker ordered a scoop of Bluebell ice cream with chocolate syrup.  The brownie was HUGE and came with whipped cream as well as ice cream, but the peach cobble stole the show.  It was served in an adorable mini-loaf pan and it was gooey, warm, buttery, and sweet.  Everyone who tried it said it was some of the best peach cobbler they'd ever had, if not THE best.  The cobbler is what bumped this review up from a solid 4-star to a glowing 5-star review.  Also, the food here is CHEAP.  For all the food we ordered for four people, plus dessert, we ended up paying approximately $10 per person.  If it was within my power, I would teleport this gem of a restaurant closer to Austin so I could eat there regularly.  I will have dreams about that cobbler.
