it's a bar, it's a tiny convenience store, it's a restaurant and snack shop, it's possibly a gas station! But on a hot day, they have soft serve and it is good and inexpensive.
Definitely has a side of the road feel to it, and full of locals on a hot day. Plus they have quite a bit of history and local color tacked up on the walls in the hallway that is the convenience store and snack counter - learn about the history of Aguanga (and where its name comes from)
A great place to stop when road tripping through the area - get some soft-serve, stretch the feet, and take in the feel of byway America.
So me and the Mrs. stopped here this past Sunday for a drink. This wasn't our first time stopping here, but it was our first time hanging out in the bar. When walking into the place, you will be pleasantly surprised to find so much space inside and a nice outdoor patio. Joe, our bartender was great. He can handle the bar just fine even with all the drunk cowboys and locals. And despite hearing some racially inappropriate language tossed around by some old salty lady, the vibe here was cool.
Definitely a "hick country" bar at heart, but with a lively mix of colorful locals that consisted of a Brit, an OB expat and of course, some coyboys and desert rats thrown in. They also had a great juke box with every kind of music on it.
We had the french fries, which were good, Â to soak up some of the many brews we downed, and the other food that we could see looked pretty damn tasty. Burgers, sandwiches, etc. Â There's a gas pump outside, pretty clean restrooms, and a convenience store inside as well. We will definetly make this a regular stop whenever we are passing through.
Great old Roadhouse Bar. Built in the 20's (?). Mixed
crowd of locals and hungry, thirsty travelers.
Good selection of Rock music on Juke Box!
Good Burgers great Onion Rings
