We were staying in Evergreen recently and needed a place to get some food - Stagecoach was located fairly close to our hotel, so we decided to give it a shot. Â It was a Saturday night, but the restaurant was fairly empty with a sign over the door saying "New owners - give us a try!". Â And try we did. Â We were seated and given menus, and proceeded to look them over. Â After 10 minutes or so, multiple waitresses had walked near to our table, glanced at us, and walked away. Â Finally, we had to ask one if she could take our order. Â Food was ordered (the BBQ beef brisket), as well as beer (Pug Ryan's Vanilla Stout). Â Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and that was the last time we ever saw our waitress. Â Another waitress stopped by quite awhile later and I ordered another beer, which took an unreasonable amount of time to recieve. Â After that, no one came back to the table. Â The restaurant was still quite empty, and we finally had to ask the hostess if we could get our bill.
Positives:
-Decent enough food, and good sized portions
-They make their own BBQ sauce
Negatives:
-Just bad service. Â I've worked in the food service industry and I'm usually much more willing to cut some slack to people who are obviously working hard and trying their best. Â This was not the case.
-Pretty poor draft beer selections, considering the vast amount of Colorado microbrews available.
As much as I hate to say it, we were thinking we received a bit of the out-of-season "tourist" treatment, especially since it wasn't ski season, and the restaurant was full of mostly locals. Â The manager offered us a 10% off "coupon" for our next visit. Â Not only is 10% rather insulting, but after we left and looked at the coupon, it was just the restaurant's business card! Â Yikes.
