A classy atmosphere to enjoy a few drinks. They make some very good classic cocktails, but avoid anything that suggests sweetness, as they over do it.
The food is hit or miss but mostly hit. The flank steak is one of the best I've ever had.
Word of caution, it's best to clear out before the CWU college kids show up; it transforms into quiet a scene.
This has been one of my favorite places to eat in E-burg. Â Nice atmosphere.
I don't drink Martinis, but they have specials that are delish. Â I went today for the first time in a long time and the chicken sandwich was good, but the asian coleslaw was not. no flavor what so ever, order the fries instead. My friend felt the same way and didn't eat her's either.
The bourbon flank steak I had was cooked perfectly and I loved the Thai Prawn appetizer but the shrimp seemed a bit on the small side.  The drinks I ordered were delicious and the waitress (Connelly, I think?) was very attentive and helpful!  This place exceeded my expectations and  I'll be going back for more food very soon!
Review Source:I fondly remember this place from my time spent in Ellensburg. Which as a college kid, meant a lot of weekends (and let us be realistic, some weeknights too) spent here with friends.
Oh Starlight, from my 21st birthday, through graduation you were a staple of my college experience.
You had a Brunch when I went to Central. Your Monte Cristo was delicious. I've come here with my parents for birthday dinners with me while at school. The martini menu was worked its way through over our time spent here. And it was delightful!
I spent a lot of time with friends here, enjoyed quite a few meals, and the Starlight definitely has a special spot in my heart for all the fun memories I have here!
This place was great! I'm not much of a drinker, but my husband & I sat at the bar. The bar tender was very nice & courteous while having a funny conversation with us. She made me a perfect drink and didn't criticize me like like other bar tenders do! Also, the appetizers were great. My husband got quesadillas while I got a grilled cheese. We went during happy hour and for 2 appetizers, a martini, glass of beer, the price was amazing. Came out to be around 16$.
I will most def come here again. (=
If you want GOOD drinks, come to the Starlight! Â This is my FAVORITE bar. Â The bartenders KNOW what they are doing. Â Their mixed drinks will MESS you up and you can't taste the alcohol. Â For what you get, their mixed drinks are well priced. Â In the back there is a cash bar and it's usually cheaper. Â You can't go wrong!!
Review Source:Worth the drive into town.
We stopped in Ellensburg for lunch on the way from Seattle to Yakima and were so happy to find the Starlight! Â The menu was creative and everything sounded delicious. Â We chose the buffalo chicken mac n' cheese. Â Yes, nothing wrong with that! Â They had the new Iron Horse seasonal brew on tap. Â Great atmosphere with exposed brick and warm wooden tables and chairs. Â Highly recommend stopping in next time you're in Ellensburg. Â If it's a Saturday the Farmer's Market is on the street right next to it.
I'm reviewing this again, because i had a great experience. Great Burger.
Fish in Chips although is not fresh...Great service from the Bartender I believe, waitstaff was dressed nice, ( not always the case) Also looks like some new menu items have been added, and I hear the mac and cheese is amazing! Also make amazing drinks. But man why no Hummus plat seems like a place that could rock a creative one.
I like the Decor and the style of this place....
Side note: when you enter the front door, there is not sign and you dont really know what your suppose to do? Seat ourselves? Wait? Dunno!!
This place was a decent pitstop on a drive to Seattle. Â This establishment is in the cool downtown area of E-burg. Â I sat in the area near the bar. Â The interior was nice with lots of dark wood. Â The server was also friendly, and able to give info on the types of brews they had on tap. Â Would like to come here to try some food or during the night when there is more of a crowd.
Review Source:I'm giving the starlight 4 stars because I went there not too long ago and ordered a double whiskey and coke and a bud light draft. Â 5 dollars.
5. Dollars.
The atmosphere is... I don't know... Don't really care. Â 5 dollars for (really) 3 drinks. Â
Hella bros. Â Hellllllllllllllaaaaa bros. Â But that's Ellensburg, and most of the bros I came in contact with were surprisingly friendly.
Visiting ellensburg on business, wanted to find that local gem. As far as happy hours go, this is the place. $2 drafts, half priced delicious appetizers, ending at six. The bar was tiny, and most people there were non social, test cramming students, downing their pbr and bud lights. Definatly worth checking out the happy hour, but I'm sure there are better places to chill in this town.
Review Source:The Starlight is a martini bar with a menu of intriguing food choices that are expensive. Â Everyone raves about the half off appetizers during the happy hours, but if you come any other time, you would be surprised at what you'll pay. Â Service? Depends on who is serving you. Â I've had quick, I've had someone forget our table existed. Â And watch out for the students that flood the building during late night happy hour. Â If you don't come early, you won't sit down nor get near the bar. But in the end, the food is good, the drinks are big and strong as long as you play sober, and if you sit down the atmosphere is mature. Â Untill you get elbowed in the face.
Review Source:this is probably the one place I really really miss from my time as an undergrad at CWU.
I recently went back for a weekend and was so happy to get to hit up the happy hour! Â The specialty martinis are $5 instead of $7 during this time and the appetizers are half off!
The strawberry push up is soooo freakin' amazing.  Strawberries & cream  & a sugar rimmed glass - yuuummo.  I also had the Lemon meringue which is lemons with cream and a sugar rim -- its more tart than sweet but still awesome.
We also got the artichoke dip and the sliders -- very good -- pretty plain though - just burger & bun with mustard and ketchup on the side.
I love this place -- come early (b/w 3-6) for Happy Hour and to beat the crowds-- it gets packed with college kiddos late night/weekends.
As far as cool bars go in Ellensburg, this is it. Â The interior is a candle lit maze of separate areas in a restored brick building. Â There are two bars, one in the front and one in the back, which is nice and their is always plenty of seating, even on Sunday nights when everything is half price.
My only complaint is that since Ellensburg is a college town, there can be heards of overdressed, cleavage bearing chicks as well as the backwards baseball capped dudes that stock these heards.
