Stephen Talkhouse

This is the greatest bar in America.

Thats, right. The greatest bar in America. I have so many things to say about The Talkhouse, that this review won't even do it justice. I have been coming here for many years, and I genuinely love this place. It's not just a bar. It's not just a music venue. It's one of those magical places where everything is so perfect and special, it transcends any rating system, review site, and even if I told you all the stories I have from here, it wouldn't do it justice.

The staff:

Larry, Phil, James, EJ, Nick, Colin, Steve... legends, good guys, amazing bartenders, funny, cool as hell and make you feel like you are at Cheers. They make you feel like you are at home. They make you feel like you are a friend and more than just a customer. Everyone wishes they had that bartender who knows them, knows their drink, makes them feel like this is "their place", and they belong here...these are those guys. This is the greatest staff known to man. Period.

The Music:

Yellowman, Steel Pulse, Burning Spear, Toots and the Maytals, Bon Jovi, fucking Roger Waters!!!, Collie Budz, KRS ONE, Slick Rick, The Pharcyde,....the list goes on and on - look at their lineup! This is A BAR. You are hearing internationally know STARS...IN A BAR!!! It doesn't get any better than this folks. No cheesy cover bands here. Only the best.

The Scene:

All walks of life to the highest degree. Many places claim to have a "mixed crowd" or something to that effect. This place really does. Fishermen mingle with billionaires. Celebrities chug beers with locals. Beautiful women (and not so beautiful women), pretty young things, cougars, models, investment bankers, landscapers. One thing they all have in common is they all are having a great time at a great place listentng to great music.

The place itself:

Don't like the band in the main room? Go out back to the regular bar area and listen to some music at the bar. Need a smoke or some fresh air? Head outside to the giant outdoor area (also with a bar). this place has it all. Even the bathrooms are awesome!

All in all, even as gushing as this review is, as I said at the beginning, this doesn't do it justice. I love this place, and if you are in the Hamptons Winter or Summer - go here. You will not be disappointed.

The Talkhouse is like that friend... the one who wears too-tight clothes, doesn't act her age, and always comes ready to party. You know it's not a good idea to hang out with her too often (lest you become like her), but a few times a year, damn, she's big time fun.

Yeah, that's the Talkhouse.

Always a great time and a good crew of people. Laid back enough that you can show up in jeans and flip flops or in stilettos after a night out.
