Wow! Just had a Jack Daniels barbecue prime rib that had an incredible flavor. Granted, Pendleton can have a limited selection of steak eateries, but this is very good for a small place that takes pride in their menu.
The service was fun and friendly. Would definitely be somewhere I will visit again while on business.
Stetsons has the best prime rib in Pendleton, hands down. the owner is very friendly and so is the staff if there is a mistake then they take care of it right away with no muss or fuss.
The bar is nice and the drinks are tasty. usually they have specials going on during holidays as well.
The only issue here is that it's pretty small in retrospect as to how many people like to eat here so the only real problem you might run into is that you have to wait a bit before they'll be able to seat you. other then that I would recommend the prime rib... it's definitely worth it.
great meal... Â hog wings were amazing! Â yes i meant HOG wings.. Â they take a pork shank and fry it crisp so you get a plate of about 3 or 4 little shanks... seriously soooo good. Â great prime rib ... green beans were very good ... dessert was meh... so so but service was friendly .. sincere.. and very attentive. Â definitely would come again
Review Source:Great local steakhouse, do not hesitate to go. Â Not fancy decor but nice western motif. Â Very friendly and helpful staff. Â The pan fried oysters were lightly floured and then pan fried as the menu says, tasted very fresh. Â The night we were there they had a choice of tenderloins, choice grade at about $32 and prime at $36. Â Ordered rare and was delivered exactly that way. Â I went with the prime grade and it was perfect, extremely tender and not a speck of fat or grizzle. the better half went with the 10oz prime rib and it was excellent as well. The mashed red potatoes were excellent, but the string beans were only fair. Â Excellent bar, good martini's! Wine list okay, some very decent by the glass choices. Â Overall very happy with the dinner.
Review Source:My wife and I met a couple we knew for dinner here when I was in town on business, and we dined like royalty for maybe half what a similar meal would be in Portland, let alone Chicago or New York.
All four of us ordered various combinations of steak, and they all turned out consistently good. Â
But Stetson's is more than steak - their drinks didn't skimp on the alcohol; they were knowledgeable about their wines; and their desserts were rich and decadent - we sampled each others' desserts and think we *all* made good choices (my wife and I split a slice of carrot cake and our dining partners had lemon cake and chocolate cake).
The service was excellent, and I appreciate the involvement of Frank, the owner, greeting us and taking the time to take our drink orders.
Another sad night dining in Pendleton, cold Prime Rib and overpriced Crab Louie Salad that might have been imitation crab...
Was told this was the best steak house in town and cannot believe Medium Rare could come out cold, unless it wasn't cooked??
Would not recommend or visit again!
So a few weeks ago the hubby declares "Wife! We're going pheasant hunting this weekend!"
I say to my self "Self, you're gonna freeze your ass off!" Then I say to the hubby "I'm gonna freeze my ass off!" To which he replies "Nope, I bought you some Carharts, and boots, you'll be fine."
Hmm, ok, off we go in the camper to Pendleton (5 hour drive from L.O.) to stay the weekend at a hunting ranch. You must understand, neither one of us are hunters, but our dog loves bird and duck hunting, so he takes her every other year. Occasionally, he knocks a few of the birds out of the sky, I however managed to hit 3. Except mine were of the clay variety.
On to my review of Stetsons - I FREAKING LOVED IT! First and foremost, the service was fantastic. The wine by the glass was really good Oregon Pinot, and a huge pour in a huge glass. The soup was so hearty and yummy that I had a hard time not scarfing it down because I was really looking forward to my steak.
Steak was amazing. Prepared perfectly, and the flavor was mouth watering. My husband laughed at me because I was humming and dancing in my seat it was so good.
I've been to some fabulous steakhouses in my line of work, but this was such an unexpected little gem!
Honestly not that impressed with the food, but this place gets a LOT of credit because really, what else am I supposed to eat in Pendleton, OR (AKA the middle of freaking nowhere)? Â The staff also earns them points for being quick and friendly.
I ordered the steak bites & mushrooms. Â You can't really go wrong with steak and mushrooms covered in cheese. Â It was tasty enough, but nothing exceptional. Â There were more mushrooms than steak, but I liked the mushrooms more anyway (not really a good thing for a steak place, I think?). Â They were generous with the cheese (Parmesan), but it wasn't completely melted - a shame since it would have cost them so little effort to make the dish that much better. Â Boyfriend ordered the "house special" top sirloin, which again was decent but nothing speical. Â Tender, but not that melt-in-your-mouth-spectacular that I look for in a steak.
Overall, I'd say the prices were too high for the quality of the food. Â With the limited options in this town, however, I'd probably still recommend it.
This is a tiny steakhouse across the street from Hamley's and it's the better deal, says the Pendleton relations. I can't argue with the deal. I had a 10 oz prime rib, baked potato, green beans cooked with bacon, salad and bread for under $30. Cheesecake was good, too. Hubby had the marinated chicken breasts with all the sides and the caramel apple pie.
Service was very friendly and their wine list had some local vineyards. Definitely one of the better restaurants in town.
Stumbled on this place by accident and could not have been more pleasantly surprised. Â Although the outside is unremarkable, inside the decor is quite nice. Â Went with a friend and we ordered Steak Fettuchini Alfredo and Steak bits and sauteed mushrooms. Â We shared the entrees and loved both of them. Â The meat was tender, the garlic red mashed potatoes yummy and the flavors divine. Â Prices were a bit high but the quality was exceptional so, I can't complain. Entrees were in the $16-$30 dollar range with both of our meals costing about $23.00. Portions were generous and we left with several takeout containers which made a delicious lunch the next day. Â We ordered dessert to go and again, absolutely loved both the chocolate and carrot cake. The man who waited on us (perhaps the owner?) was attentive and friendly, even though we were grungy and underdressed after a long day traveling. Â Although I am quite frugal, Â I will definitely stop here next time I am in the area.
Review Source:I was very pleasantly surpristed to find a nice steakhouse in such a small town. Â Everyone we were in contact with at Stetson's was friendly and happy to serve us. Â The beer selection is above average, and the beer prices are reasonable - maybe a bit on the higher end. Â We tried the rib wings (or something like that) and they were awesome! Â They're basically individual ribs(fall-off-the-bone tender), breaded and deep fried and served with excellent BBQ sauce. Â The big shock was that three ribs (appetizer portion) is $12! Â Ridiculous! Â Great and friendly service and good beer wasn't enough to entice us to pay such high prices by staying for dinner. Â I'd go back if I am in the area and feeling a bit wealthy someday. Â
Four stars because of the poor value.
