I have been looking for two months for a great coffee shop that reminds me of coffee shops from the NW and I found it. Yummy homemade baked goods, great coffee, reasonable prices, large shop with seating options and space to breathe and last but not least friendly and helpful staff. If you are looking for a great study place away from the chaos and rushed feeling of the nearby big city, Stomping Grounds in Greer is for you. Did I mention they have free parking?

No one greeted me. That's the first thing I noticed when I entered The Stomping Grounds. "What are you gonna have"  that was my greeting when I walked to the counter to order.Wow. I thought  with the good reviews, i would receive out of this world service. No not here.  I have received better greetiings at Starbucks.

The coffee was a bit mild/weak for my tastes but it was drinkable. I purchased a tall Jamacian blend and was underwhelmed. The tables were  dirty from lunch?? (it was between 3-4) when  i visited. I have read the reviews really emphasing the ambiance ok so no unless a small child running throughout is ambiance.

Maybe I will try the wine bar at night. I say no to the coffee shop it was not worth going back.

Great coffee, varied wine selection, comfy atmosphere and local musical talent make this place an oasis in downtown Greer. You won't regret the visit!

I'm very excited about this place, I'm from Seattle and I am always on the lookout for local coffee shops and this place has a fantastic atmosphere and a cozy feel to it. I hate to not give it 5 stars, but I've ordered food three times, and each time they've gotten my order wrong, which is frustrating but I can overlook it.  Also, I was really disheartened to hear today from their staff member that the breads and pies are ordered frozen, not brought in fresh. Lastly, I don't mind that they buy their deli meats and cheeses from the grocery store but the brand they choose is way too salty and processed. I'd love to see them use fresh deli meat instead, as a much healthier and by far tastier alternative. The sandwich I got today (with the wrong cheese and meat) was so salty and the meat was so slimy, and the bagel was wet on the inside from being defrosted. I had to throw it all away, which was a waste of $7 and a waste of the staff member's time to prepare it. Very disappointing.

This place is still fairly new to Greer and just getting started, I believe only about a year old. I will absolutely still come here often for the coffee, which is fantastic, by the way, and will simply get my lunch elsewhere until they are able to start offering fresh ingredients instead of pre-packaged and frozen.

STILL, despite my food misadventures, I still adore this little shop and see its fantastic potential and think it's a perfect gem for this little downtown. I haven't been here in the evening yet but I'm really looking forward to it.

I cannot rave enough about this spot. Finally! A great coffee shop that isn't Starbucks. If one more person from the South recommends a Starbucks for me to visit....ugh. being FROM Seattle, Starbucks out here suck. But Stomping Grounds?? YES! Service is phenomenal. Coffee is terrific. Ambiance is perfect. This is a hip urban coffee shop with the service of your local neighborhood 'stomping ground' ....they have ALL kinds of events including wine tasting and local artists and musicians featured. I've made this my new haunt. The ambiance is fresh and clean with plenty of room to spread out and get work done or just sit with friends and chat. They offer a full menu, too!! I always end up ordering a snack. For a coffee shop, they are right on the money.

Ever wonder what it would be like to put a cool New York City coffee shop into a quaint small town like Greer, SC?

If so, then Stomping Grounds is the place to go.  Whether you're looking for a 7am coffee to get your day going, or a 9pm dessert w/hot tea to close out your day, you won't go wrong here.

They also serve bagels, salads, and several other light foods.  Most evenings showcase some of the area's musical talent.  Acoustical guitar, a solo chello, or smooth vocals will set the perfect relaxing mood.

The owner has done a wonderful job renovating this space to the coffee shop downtown Greer has needed for years.  Definitely stop in if you're in the area!
