My husband and I just went to a tasting here and had the pleasure of meeting Martha (the beautiful lady with short blond hair). She is a fun and spunky sommelier with a wealth of knowledge on everything wine. She not only explained the process scientifically, but she was also able to "dumb it down" with out making it seem like she was talking down to us. She spent the time to explain how to really enjoy and savor our wine.

It was an awesome Experiance!

The staff is very welcoming and especially Martha. She is extremely knowledgable. She breaks down the history of some of the wines, and shows you on a map where some of the grapes are grown. It's so neat how the same grape grown 5 miles apart taste so different. I will go back again, and I reccomand anyone to go back.

It was a heat wave in Napa and while the weather was absolutely amazing, this city girl needs her AC! Rather than going to the vineyards, my GFs and I decided to visit tasting rooms instead. Stonehedge was the second stop of our lazy afternoon.

Quaint and small, Stonehedge is tastefully designed with couches on one side of the room and stools around the bar. It was 9 of us and we decided on the bar instead. Which was great, because we had the attention of both of our hosts, Martha and Shawn.

Our tasting consisted of 6 wines of our choosing, but our hosts were accommodating and allowed us to taste a few more. I think they had a side agenda to get us drunk because those tasting glasses kept getting fuller! And better yet, because Stonehedge offers a great selection. We left happy, slightly buzzed, and a case of wine fuller.

I highly recommend Stonehedge. Great hosts, wonderful wine selection, and dog friendly!

What a miserable experience. Went earlier tonight with my gf and our downtown napa taste cards. Upon entering and mentioning to the bartender that we had the cards, we were immediately made to feel unwelcome. I wish I got the girls name but she had short blond hair. Anyway, even though the card is so you can get out and see the town, this person tried to tell us that I was being ripped off and that every other tasting room/winery is out get me, except for their winery. What BS!

Anyway, I'm a local and I'm in front of visitors everyday, and guess where I will not be sending people!

Who cares, who comes into your shop, be lucky its someone, especially since your so far north in downtown. Tourist, local, who cares, treat everyone the same!

PS: And so no-one thinks "oh maybe she had a bad day", another group was present and I bet their tasting was quite different then ours.

And too bad, because I think the wines were good.

Price: Average BUT I went with a group of girls for a bachelorette party I planned and was very upset when they rang us up for our bottles of wine ( we bought 4 bottles) they charged us the tasting FEE on top of the wine purchase!!! The other two wineries (Hagafen and Twenty Rows) didn't. AND most wineries don't. I won't be back for this reason. Please rethink this!
Customer service was good and it's a pretty and clean place but not again.

I went to the Tasting Room this past April and the experience was fabulous, including the knowledgeable guidance of each wine I enjoyed to the arrangement of the shipment of wine that I bought, and that in and of itself earns a top rating. BUT that's not where this story ends.

I received my shipment of wine when I got home, all the way on the east coast. Unfortunately, a couple of my bottles of wine were corked (as it happens). I wrote Stonehedge to let them know so that they might be able to trace the wine back to a batch that they had so they could check, NOT to get a refund or arrange to have the wine returned. What they did afterwards was pretty incredible customer service. They shipped me replacement bottles with no questions asked and included more than the number of bottles of the corked wine that I had originally received. This to me is top-notch customer service and should be commended.

Thank you, Martha, for your gracious gesture. I will not only return to the tasting room when I get back to the area, but I encourage everyone to stop on by for a comfortable setting, good wine, and overall great experience.

My girlfriend and I had a great experience at Stonehedge. We drove up from San Diego on our way to Oregon and decided to stop in Napa for the night. We knew we wouldn't get in til about 5 pm, so we looked on Yelp to find places open in the evenings. We came across Stonehedge and also saw their 2 for 1 deal. We were all "Score!". When we got there, a large group was just leaving. The rest of the night it was the two of us and the Lori, the lady who runs the place. She was very talkative, loves bleu cheese, and swears like a sailor. For $15, we each had 6 or 7 wines and then she thought we were so cute, she gave us a free tasting to Taste at Oxbow, where she has a few friends. We ended up getting another 3 or 4 there for free!

The space here is much smaller and friendlier. Very nice building and good wines to boot. Had a nice time walking through downtown as well when we were done.

Very friendly and informative. This was one of our first stops in Napa and our server provided some excellent background on what 's going on around the area and helpful recommendations.

Had a great time tasting their wine using our NAPA card.15 % off your wine purchase if you have NAPA.
Friendly service and very knowledgeable about the wines they serve.
Would definitely come back and try more.

Really great place to try an extensive selection of wine.

We also got to try a couple special selections the wine maker was working on.

Beautiful, open. Love the wooden smell. Dog friendly so long as they're leashed. Here's my breakdown of the wines tasted:

2010 Lynndon Chardonnay: Thumbs up. Such soft vanilla sweetness and texture.
2009 Havens Bourriquot: Thumbs up. Pure silk. No bite. Versatile with food pairing per the bartender. I can see why. It's a pure blend. It wouldn't fight any food.
Can't say I was impressed with the reds including the illustrious "sex in a bottle," Rumi.
2008 Stonehedge Gewürztraminer: Thumbs up. Sweet, but steady. One you could drink on it's own. The competing Muscat Canelli was super sweet, but didnt pass the point of overwhelming. The Lynndon Chardonnay would be a bottle worth purchasing.

Either the bar is too high or the stools are too short. The experience was great but comfort was lacking. Next time I'll sit on the couches.

We used the yelp deal here. It was such a good deal. We tasted four or five wines each, so we got to taste ten wines in total.

The atmosphere was wonderful. I felt so comfortable being there and we even had good conversations with two other couples, which is always nice. A big group of drunks came in and kind of ruined the mood for a bit, but the pourer handled them well and they tried a few wines (and spilled some too) and then left to go back to their "vodka in the limo". Haha.

We were a fan of the wines, but we are pretty easy to please when it comes to wine. We had to contemplate the two we wanted to buy, and there was some arguing involved. We even ordered a glass to enjoy after the tasting. I got a Pinot Noir...so good. I wish we would have bought it as well as the other two we brought home.

We will probably be returning the next time we are in town.

We came here on a yelp deal- well worth it! Lori was great and informative. The wines were all substantial and depending on what you like, they were not weak but hearty.

My husband and I were in Napa this weekend to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and our favorite afternoon was spent at Stonehedge with Lori. We stumbled upon it because we had the Taste cards for bargain pours around the downtown area. We had our complimentary red and white from Stonehedge and enjoyed it so much, that we ventured back a little bit later in the day to pay for the full-price tasting and a couple extra glasses! Not only was the wine superb, but the hostess made it feel like home. We chatted with her a bunch and learned a lot about the wines we were trying. We purchased a bottle of the Rumi and a bottle of the Muscat. Looking back, we really wish we had bought a couple more bottles that day! The 39 North selections were also a favorite.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Came here because of the Napa Wine Card. Wine Card sucks but this place is great. For our card, we got several tasting of excellent wines.

Overall, we had a great experience drinking some delicious wine. We enjoyed every single red that Red served us and the Chardonnay was really good. We had a great time talking to Red as well. She was really knowledgable about all the wines and basically helped plan our trip since Stonehedge was our first stop. You won't be disappointed!

Since we were only here for the day, I had to pick and choose from the 12 offerings as part of the Napa Wine card and knew I had to swing by to meet the famous RED. She is such a riot in a good way of course and makes the experience a fun one. The wine was pretty good too but as the other couple had mentioned, she makes the tasting room what it is.

RED is such a cool person. She rocks! We came here Saturday with a total of 8 girls. Whoa! It was for my 25th birthday. We had the Napa Wine Card which got us free tastings but she was so pleasant. This is a tasting room by the way, the winery is close though. We tried several different reds because that is what I prefer. All were great.

Recommend to anyone looking for a tasting room which awesome wine and if you want to chill with a cool lady named Red.

Came here during my Thanksgiving trip to Napa with my sister and step-mom...we had a blast!!! What else can I say that has not already been said about the wonderful "Red"!!! Seriously, she made our experience here so much fun! Feisty and knowledgeable east coast lady =) LOVED her!! We left with tons of wine and these awesome candles that were made from old wine bottles - SO cool and unique. Pricing was really great too, we did the upgraded tasting which includes the entire front and back of the wine list. I left more than a little tipsy as this was our second tasting that afternoon. If you buy wine, your tasting is comped. What made our experience that much better is when Red suggested a few places in Downtown Napa for us to get a bite after. We ended up going to one - Bistro Sabor - and it was DELICIOUS!!! Thanks Red!!!

we were in down town and wanted to do another wine tasting but didn't think there would be any good places in the town. we went to this place just by chance and it turned out to be the best.

it was pretty inexpensive, 15 bucks for a whole page full of pours, and the lady red was very very helpful. she made the experience great. props to her for the memorable time.

My fiance and I decided to do Napa differently this time around. We brought our dog, Comet, with us and researched "dog friendly" wineries in Napa. Turns out, all the dog friendly wineries are off the main "touristy" road.

This is by far the best way to do Napa. We wrote a list down and ended up stopping by Stonehedge at the end of our day. Lois (aka "Red") was AWESOME. We walked in, asking her if it would be OK if our dog came in. We had a great conversation with her and another couple who brought cheese to pair with the wine, while our dog sniffed around, living it up as each person he approached gave him praised and lots of love. I couldn't be happier with our experience here.

To top it off, at the end of our tasting (delicious and very affordable wines, by the way), she didn't charge us the full tasting fees and she gave us a discount on the 4 wines we bought. I highly recommend the Muscat!!

We are definitely coming back here next time we're in town.

Thanks for a great time!!

Six of us arrived here in late afternoon on a Thursday. The room is modern chic and holds about 30 people maximum. We were promptly seated and here is a summary of our experience:

Service - (3/5) the female pourer served us and gave us some info on the wines, but did not spend much time with us

Cost - (5/5) $15 for 9 pours

Wines - (2/5) ok wines but too pricey
Chardonnay 2009 Oakville $45 - lots of flavor, fruity, minimal oak, but pricey
Bourriquot 2009 Napa Valley $40 - 75% Cal Franc, 25% Merlot "the working mule" red wine - would not pay more than $10 for it
Grenache 2007 Mendocino County $32 - peppery, tannic, smooth start, chalky
Malbec 2008 Mendocino County $36 - too smokey, pungent, sour aftertaste
Diamond Ridge Pinot Noir 2008 Santa Barbara County $30 - a little spicey, tart, nothing stand-out
Diamond Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 Rutherford $30 - young, bright fruity
The Nobel Red 2007 Napa Valley 2007 $36 - high in alchohol, shark, good bite too it, but still more than I would pay for it
Gewurztraminer 2008 Mendocino County $30 - sweat, pear, melon - not better than Gewurz available at one third of the price
Muscat Canelli 2009 California $35 - tasty but sweet, slightly floral

Overall it was ok but I probably would not return and did not buy any wines.

I was here a few weeks ago with my family who was visiting from Florida. First of all, this tasting is amazing. I went on a yelp deal so it was a 2 for 1 tasting which made it even better. Most places you go, you might get 3-5 pours, but if i remember correctly this was more like 8. Loved Red too! She was awesome!!!! I want to be her when I grow up. : ) I would actually revisit this place and might when I'm back in town next month. Loved the wine, loved the location, and Red made the experience that much more enjoyable.

Found this tasting room through their ad for the Yelp Deal and was surprised I hadn't heard of them before. Their tasting room is really nice, I feel like it would be a great event space for a little mixer or something. It's also very comfortable for doing a tasting, which is what we came for. I thought that our sommelier, Red, was what made this place five-star. She's fun and talkative without being annoying (which I feel like not a lot of people in the industry are able to do right). Highlight of the actual wines we tasted was for sure the Noble Red.

Nice little wine-tasting room in downtown Napa. Mrs. B and I used our Downtown Napa tasting cards for the hookup here. The red wines here are pretty good, and the conversations with the server here were pretty fun. I can't remember our servers name as I write, but I remember her saying she had just moved there from Philadelphia. We got some candid opinions and matter-of-fact notes about living in Napa, that's for sure!

What's my favorite color? RED! Well, not really, but Red is who you need to see when you come visit this tasting room.

A group of my friends made a stop to the tasting room and even though we had not made a previous reservation, Red was very accomodating and made our experience a fun and interactive one. Most of us were new to the wine tasting experience so we got a mini lecture from Red about the different types of wines and the foods that pair well with each. A few of us ended up buying bottles and she was kind enough to wave all our tasting fees.

I would highly recommend a stop here if you're in the area. If you download the iPhone Winery app, you can score a buy one get one free deal!

One Name... RED. She definately made this place. Besides the wines, which were really good. She made the experience for my girlfriends and I. We ended up buying a bottle, and taking it back to our hotel and finished out our wine tasting there. Thank you Red, for making it a great day! We'll be back!

By the Way I really enjoyed their young cab.

I like unpretentious wine tasting rooms and this place qualifies.

Nobel Red, Chardonnay, and Gewurztraminer are good values.

I *heart* the Nobel Red! That is my absolute favorite! It's a nice BOLD flavor that would go great with steak! The tasting room is delightful! It's decor with the big brown leather sofas invite you to sit in it! TJ and Lois are awesome host/hostess with friendly chats. This tasting room was listed in Tasting & Touring Magazine for 2011 so come on in!

On a different note - after reading these reviews, I noticed that people have forgotten their things here and had TJ bring it back to them. Well... I found TJ's umbrella and brought it back to him! This place is all about karma... hahah!!!

Stop on in and tell him I sent ya!

p.s. bring a steak! :P

As far as the wine the Grenache is what stuck out there for me. Lois "RED" as she wanted to be called was great ( unlike Mark at the Taste at Oxbow). " Red" started to chit chat with my friend and I at we pretty much hit it off with her. She informed us on the wines but after that she was all about telling us where to eat, what was going on that day. There was even a street festival and her friend that owns http://Divcodogs.com was going to be there. My friend and I did not purchase any wine from Stonehedge, but Lois "Red" was very informative and fun.

What a lovely time.

Thanks to TJ, our wonderful wine expert and the great wine.

The minute you walk into this place, you feel as if you are walking into a nice, cozy, yet classic dining room. The service is outstanding.

Here are my favorites:

TS Chardonnay 2007 Monterrey

TS The Nobel Red 2007 Napa Valley - one of my favorites, exquisite mixture of blackberry, pepper hint, and chocolate. Delicious!

TS Gewurztraminer - 2007 Mendocino County

TS Muscat Canelli 2009 California - A sweet treat!

PS: I forgot my scarf there and TJ was sweet enough to run after us to give it to me.

I must agree with JJ. Stonehedge is the gem of downtown Napa. If I had known this place hadn't had any reviews until recently, I would have given Stonehedge a stellar review when I first visited last year! TJ is a sweetheart and is a pleasure to chat with as he pours your tastings.

Last time I went, it was a Saturday morning and my friend and I thought we'd just have a little taste before having a picnic of our own. A search for wineries/tasting rooms close to the place we were staying lead us to Stonehedge and boy were we glad we went!

We entered and were greeted by TJ who introduced us to the tasting menu which consisted of 9 wines, including their award winning chardonnay (YUM!!) Not wanting to get trashed before 11am, we decided to split a tasting, only to have TJ pour each of us our own glasses.

Me: Oh, um, I'm sorry, we're just sharing one tasting
TJ: *smiles* I know *continues pouring*

We progressed through the menu and the pours seemingly got larger and needless to say, we were buzzin' hardcore by the time we left at 11am. Three months later, my friend and I returned to Napa for their Downtown Napa Chef's Market in which Stonehedge was the featured winery. We tracked down their booth in which TJ was manning, of course, and as we approached him, he says "You're back!". Love it. Great wine and great times!
