After a seven hour, forty-five minute drive I needed nourishment. When I travel, I would rather go to a local establishment than a franchise. The Stones Throw was recommended by my manager and he told me to try the roast beef sandwich. It did not dissapoint. The roast beef sandwich was tasty and the horseradish to dip it in was great. I will be back if I ever get back here for work.
Review Source:I wish there was a zero star rating for this place. I am typically very forgiving and it takes a lot for me to decide to never go back to a palce.
I came here with my fiance on a Saturday afternoon. I love Irish pubs and was looking forward to some good beer and food. We walked in the Wooster entrance and sat at the bar. A couple minutes later someone came over and told us that bar was closed so we could move to the other bar or to a table. We moved to a table and after several minutes of waiting I decided to walk over to the other bar to get our beers. The person behind the bar said "Oh I'm not a bartender I can't get you anything". A few minutes later a bartender showed up and poured our beers. After I finished my beer we still had not seen a menu or talked to a server, but there was one socializing with the hostess about 20 feet away (I know, I could have walked over and asked for a menu but this was the first time I had been there and was awestruck at the terrible service). While I was in the restroom (max 2 minutes) the server asked my fiance if we were eating and she said "I'm not sure my fiance is in my bathroom" (she wasn't sure if we were eating because the service had already been horrible). For the 45 minutes I drank two beers (which I had to go up to the bar to order) while we watched the server go back into the kitchen to eat food several times (my seat was facing the kitchen). When she was wasn't stuffing her face she was standing at the hostess stand discussing her plans for the rest of the weekend. A little over an hour into the trip I paid for the beers we had and walked out, realizing that the employees had no interest in serving their "guests". Before leaving I checked in on foursquare and was amused o see a tip pop up from someone who had a similar experience.
I thought I had experienced bad service before but this probably tops the list for me. I will never be back and will never recommend this place to anyone! Apalling!
Came to Stones Throw with a group of girlfriends on a recent BG trip. Â It's amazing to see how the space has changed from the old BW3 days. Â Our server was so sweet, and reminded me of my days waiting tables trying to pay for school - and by school, I mean a case of Natty Light!! Â The menu is a great change to the same old that most other places in BG have. Â As some other reviews have mentioned, the portions are HUGE. Â I can throw down some food, and even I had to take my leftovers home. Â
Our plan was to bar hop, but we all liked Stones Throw so much we ended up staying here all night! Â The beer selection is awesome, the food is great, and we didn't feel like we were too old to be there - always a plus when you are over 30 and in a college town!!
We will definitely be back!
