This place is an interesting slice of the American West. You get cowboy hats and cattle ranchers mixed in with families and a few tourists, but what really stands out is the food. Make no mistake: the food is great. From the house-made rolls and scratch ceaser dressing to the delicious bacon wrapped jalapeños. This was the perfect dinner after a day of mountain biking. Then you get the beef. Keep in mind that the actual cut of meat you'll consume comes directly from their own cattle (there's a cattle auction next door). In other words,  the Strayhorn Grill is to "localvores" what the cannabis cup is to Cheech & Chong. It's so local you're basically eating food from their backyard. Service was solid, but the cocktail was a bit sweet and lacking the main ingredient. And my steak was slightly over-cooked. It was still really tasty.
The ambiance is bright and open. It's not really the best place for a date, but a fun experience for a group or family. Also, be advised that location is a little confusing but just go to the address drive into the lot for the giant Cattle Exchange and the grill is to the left with an unmarked entrance.
Very good restaurant, a locals hide away with awesome food. Â I've been there twice, once for lunch (steak sandwich -- delicious), once for dinner (ribeye -- YUM). Â The food was always excellent, the service during dinner was a bit slow, but it was a Friday night and they were busy. Â It can get a bit noisy on the busy nights, but the food makes up for any misdoings.
