I'm going to start by saying I LOVE this little coffee bar. It's not a swanky little joint, but you can tell the baristas love their job and love having fun doing it. There was 2 people outside painting and 4 people behind the bar working their coffee magic. As soon as I came in, I fell in love with their coffee mugs. I had to buy a pink one (which later I found out fits perfectly in my car cup holder!!! SCORE!!!) The barista waiting on me told me with the purchase of my mug that I get a FREE latte. WHAT??? Double Score! I was stoked!! I had the Wahiawa Mocha. White chocolate mocha with pineapple. Usually, they make it really sweet, but I asked them to not to. It was perfect!  I heard two of the baristas talking about one of the guys making a Chai "that will make you feel like Christmas, make you see the nativity scene". I'm totally coming back to check that out.

This coffee shop is ran by a non-for-profit and they even have a tip jar raising money for Bangladesh Surfers. Pretty rad.

We had Ice Mocha and Oatmeal Cookie last Saturday.  Mocha somehow tasted like Ovaltine but we liked it.  Cookie was satisfying.

I will try Acai Bowl next time.

    I rate 3.5

Wahiawa is stepping up their game and trying to get rid of the negative connatations that are usually associated.  Surfers Coffee Bar is leading the way.  The surfing bar is sponsored and supported by a surfing volunteer company.  This company allows people/surfers to make a difference in poverished communities across the globe,

This place is located on kamehameha highway on the left side of the road after exiting the H2.  The bar is closed on Sundays and Mondays allowing you five other days to enjoy this vibrant, modern, hipster place.

Walking in you will notice cozy chairs, single tables, a study table, and bar stools for your studying or socializing experience, in one corner of the room is a stage for performances.   Along one wall, there was a projector with a surfing video, and the speakers projected songs by Jack Johnson is always played to go along with laid back music.  On the other walls were surfing photos or posters.  My favorite one is a poster of a surf video presentation of a high school in Anaheim, California from the 70s.  Anaheim is where my alma mater resides.

For food, they serve the typical bagels and make a pretty good acai bowl, which is kind of pricy.  In terrms of drinks, you have the typical mochas, coffee drips, teas, etc.  Your coffee palate will be pleased.

The employees and staff are always smiling and tell intereting stories of their past hometowns.

If this was place was closer to town, i would study here on a daily basis.

It's been awhile since I've written any reviews for the simple fact that I do not have the time to sit down and write reviews.  However, by spending time here today I have come to realize that I am seriously liking this space much, much more. What I love most about this place is that I'm supporting a locally owned business. In this past year, I have been more conscious of and become actively supportive in local businesses.

There are different walks of people that come here. As I am sitting here, there is a man (a bit unkempt) sitting in a corner writing on a pad of paper, two business men who appear to be having a meeting, a group of young adult men in a circle having a discussion, another male on his computer, and there's ME.  The doors are left wide open so it may become noisy with the street noise, there is no AC on at the moment but there are ceiling fans in full swing and enriching background music.

So come in and enjoy the atmosphere, the coffee, teas, etc.

It's a pretty nice place that opened up within the past year.  It took the place of some of those sleezy clubs and video shops that used to be in Wahiawa.  Prices are good and the coffee is good too. I had a small soy latte and my friend had a large coffee with an everything bagel and nutella.  If I wasn't always running so late to work, I would probably go the extra five minutes (I work on Wheeler) to grab a cup of joe here.  I'm sure they would benefit more from my business than Sbux. If you're in the area, you should check it out.  I think they have live bands play now and then.  They have a small stage and they also have a projector screen that plays surf videos.  Their customers seem to come from N.Shore and Waialua; true to its name, Surfer's Coffee Bar.

First time here and loved it!

I work up in the Wahiawa area and was so glad when I saw this coffee shop coming in and replacing the super groody strip joints that used to be in the old buildings.

I really needed to chill today after work so I decided to finally stop by. I'm totally glad I did because I had the BEST mocha I've had on the island hands down. It was the perfect balance of coffee, chocolate, and sweetness, which was a nice change of pace from the chocolate-syrup messes masquerading as mochas that  I'm used to receiving lately.

Interior is really nice and comfy as well with plenty of seating.

I didn't even mind the neighborhood kids stopping by for a moment to noisily chat with the workers, trying to convince them to come to the skate park again with them sometime. They obviously look up to these guys, and I'm stoked to see the kids have some positive influences.

My one complaint: Lack of snacks. I want some grub to fill up a bit before the coffee hits my stomach.

There were only a couple of choices, but even just some bags of chips or some pre-packaged stuff would be nice as well since I know they're not going to have as much turn over as a place like Starbucks and wouldn't be able to stock as much fresh goodies.

Chill vibe. Great coffee. Friendly staff. My wife and I had a couple of the best Coconut Mochas we've ever had! Smooth and creamy with just the right amount of sweet. Can't wait to go back and try some of the other creative drinks!

I think it would behoove anyone who is thinking of supporting this business to look into the STN group and history.  This non-profit organization has some incriminating history surrounding it's leaders, Tom and Cindy Bauer.  In addition, I've heard allegations that they refused service to a gay couple because "they don't serve their kind."  Not cool.

And now another "Thank you Yelp for helping me find a really awesome new place" story:

Once upon a time, McHubster and I, along with a lovely friend, were on our way up to North Shore for a lazy Saturday at the beach. Coffee sounded like the perfect companion to our drive. Unfortunately, we came to this realization after the highway on-ramp and much too far away from all our regular go-to's. So (naturally) we went to Yelp, played eenie meenie miney mo, and Surfers Coffee Bar it was. Lucky choice!

Although we don't get out to Wahiawa area very often, if we lived closer I'm sure we would be here quite a bit. SCB serves Stumptown Coffee (my favorite, and very hard to find on the island) and has a very relaxed and open atmosphere. We all enjoyed our coffees to the max--very good.

So, if you're like I was, and are currently scrambling through Yelp, looking for a decent place to stop for coffee in this area, LOOK NO FURTHER. You'll like (maybe even love?) this place.

I live in Wahiawa so I was excited when a decent coffee shop opened up (especially since I love coffee!.) I went on a wednesday night around 8 and that is the night to go. Around that time its open mike and surprisingly some of the performers were actually really good!!

I ordered a chai tea, which was really good and really big! The prices are decent and the service is fast for drinks!
Will be going back every wednesday!

Wonderful! This is the perfect place to get away with a good book, to study, write, or just sit and let your mind wander. As a busy mom with young kids I so appreciated the good coffee, great music, and the ABUNDANCE of comfy spots to sit and relax. The Wahiawa Mocha is haunting my dreams...yummy! :-)

Walked into this rad coffee shop and was welcomed warmly. My latte was super but the laid back atmosphere and friendly people made it even better. I highly recommend it if your cruising through the neighborhood.

This place rocks.  It's so laid back you feel like you're in someones kitchen with friennds hanging out.  Best part? 100% pure kona coffee bought locally, every penny tipped, paid goe right back into the community. I volunteer as a barista and no one gets paid and no one gets tips.  All tips go to the Ulu Pono Kids program that has a art, dance and afterschool tutoring program. How cool is that?  All the coffee is ORGANIC.  The coffee isn't bad either:-)

Wanted to try this coffee place in Wahiawa because my husband wanted a blended coffee and the 'other" Wahiawa coffee shop doesn't do blended drinks. Walked in and really liked the look and layout of the shop, however two little dogs were YAPPING like crazy at all the customers as they walked in. IMO, it's unacceptable to bring a DOG into a food and drink establishment, but to bring two YAPPY dogs into a place where people are eating and drinking- um no. Unfortunately, the dogs in the restaurant did it for me. I didn't even want to order anything. My husband did order the Wahiawa white mocha though and he really liked it. I tried a sip, and it was good. Unfortunately though, I doubt I'll frequent this business again just because of the fact dogs (even poorly behaved ones) are apparently allowed AND welcomed into this business. 1 star because the coffee was good, a 2nd star because the guy working was friendly, but minus 3 stars for the barking dogs. Sorry. :(

Love it! Go here almost every morning. Great coffee, great people, fun atmosphere. Its a great alternative to Starbucks/corporate coffee. They have live music, open mic nights, and sometimes even show surf films on the wall. Local, eclectic, and fun! See you there!

I have to say, Surfers Coffee Bar embodies Hawaii's "try buy local" economic strategy and aloha spirit.
I've always been a supporter of the non-profit Surfing the Nations and as a resident of Wahiawa I have seen the awesome influence they are having on the town.  This new coffee bar in one of their buildings is a PERFECT addition to Wahiawa and I am a regular on my way to work in the morning.
The first day I walked in I was greeted warmly and personally given an orientation to the coffee bar.  The couple who owns it is warm and amazing- really great people with a passion for helping others.  All the Surfer's Coffee Bar coffee is grown and roasted in Hawaii (except for their iced coffee, which is cold-brewed) and they serve local foods (can't WAIT to try their acai bowl...).  The Wi-Fi is free and they are open (so far) Tuesday through Friday mornings or whenever the door is open!  It is located right off California Ave and I never have trouble parking in the morning.
One of the most amazing things is that ALL of the proceeds go towards Surfing the Nations, specifically their after school tutoring program.  Even the tips go straight towards Surfing the Nation's programs.  As a teacher, I am a huge supporter of community programs like this.  Combine these education initiatives with caffeine and aloha and I am one happy camper!

A delicious coffee drink called the Wahiawa Mocha, free wi-fi, a nice stage for musicians, and the vintage feel of an older bar make this new, trendy cafe (located right on the main strip in Wahiawa) an instant favorite! I've only visited once so far, but I will most defnitely be going back to check out more of their menu! Additional info to this review is on it's way!

p.s. if you search for "surfer's coffee bar" on facebook you can find their page.
