Susan's Place Wine Bar & Eatery

We loved Susan's place. Great service, beautiful garden seating area, little twinkly lights and good food. It was a very pleasant surprise. We dined with our two kids (8 and 5, who are pretty well behaved) for lunch and it was fine. They even have a sort of "made to order" kids menu.  We are members at Scott Harvey and will definitely be back here when we pick up wine.

We were up wine tasting and wanted somewhere new to try. We were told to try Susan's Place and I can say great choice! Jaylynn was our server and she gave us some great suggestions, the cranberry chutney chicken salad & the bacon, avocado & grilled chicken sandwich were wonderful! We will be back for sure!

Susan's place has very interesting decor and I'm a big fan of lights strung in trees.  We came here on a suggestion and ended up sharing everything because we weren't that hungry.  They were perfectly fine with that, didn't charge us for the extra plate, and didn't roll their eyes like you would expect from a place in San Francisco or Oakland.  The service was really good and exceeded my expectations.  The portions are huge so I'm really glad we split the meal because we were without refrigeration at our inn.  We ordered the salmon with the lemon-dill sauce and gold potatoes.  It was amazing!  Perfectly cooked and the veggies, potatoes, and salmon went together perfectly.  The only thing that was disappointing was the chocolate torte dessert.  It wasn't as rich as you would expect and seemed too cake-y and dry for flour-less chocolate cake.  I would suggest they do a flour-less chocolate lava cake instead. Another thing I liked is that the seating feels very separate and private...I hate staring at other people while I'm eating and they have it arranged so that you are somewhat secluded from other people.  I would definitely go back!  The patio is probably gorgeous in the summer when its warm enough to be outside but the inside was just as nice.
