Very friendly staff, but the kitchen is letting them down. Â Do not know why it is describing itself as an Irish bar as it appears tp be having a bit of an identity crisis. Â The Swedish meatballs were okay but the gravy was thick and tasteless. Â Mussels did not taste freshly cooked - very rubbery. Â My pasta was good. Â We ate outside because the local (obviously long tolerated) drunk would not leave us alone in the bar area. Lots of great potential for this non Irish pub with its great location.
Review Source:I've been here a few times and have not had a bad experience. Â The service is great and the food is very tasty. Â We still have to try more of the microbrews, but so far, so good. Â I would recommend this place to anybody wanting an upscale pub experience with good food. Â I found it odd that they are closed on Sundays, but, keep that in mind if you are looking for a place to watch Packer football.
Review Source:Amazing atmosphere and food. The Guinness beef stew was hearty and delicious...I think I could survive on that stew all winter. I just might have to move to Waupaca and make T.W. Martens my second home. The pub is cozy and welcoming in an upscale casual way and is full of friendly people (many who seem to be regulars). Â The menu has a good selection of food and beer...great for the lone traveler or a group of friends.
Review Source:Great location in a historic building with lots of character. I enjoyed the BBQ pork sandwich I had along with a local microbrewery IPA. Two of my table mates raved about the pecan crusted walleye to the point that the waitress had the chef come to our table to talk to them about the recipe.
Review Source:Fish and chips are more like fish disks with fries.
Their pints are more like schooners. Â When I asked for a full size pint, instead of this feminine sized schooner, I was told "Sorry dear, we only have one sized pint, and you're looking at it." Â But... it... is... not even a pint. Â
Service was ok.
I don't know  Locals rave about the place.  I guess us out of towners have our bars set to a different level... pun intended.
T.W. Martin's Public House, known by locals as 'T-Dubbs' is another establishment you should visit if you appreciate the finer things in life. Â Great food, comfy/cozy SMOKE-FREE atmosphere, and beers abound. Â Service is good, very friendly, and you'll almost always see an owner on-site. Â
Amazing beer selection on tap and from the bottle. Â Guinness (Ireland), Smithwick's (Ireland) (pronounced smitt-icks), Boddington's (England) highlight the imports and four selections from local Central Waters Brewery highlight their available American craft brews. Â An import bottled beer list (views more like a wine list) offers an array of European and Canadian (Quebec) Brews. Â If you like traditional Belgian-style beers you'll be in heaven. Â
My wife had the Jumbalaya and I ordered one of their Pub Burgers. Â Jumbalaya looked, smelled, and tasted great. Â The burger was one of the best I've ever had. Â Nice blend of spices worked into the meat that could have been blended in-house and was ccoked to perfection. Â Pub Fries were stellar, as any good Irish Pub should have.
I recommend T-Dubbs for lunch (on the patio in summer), dinner, or for drinks with friends. Â
Free wi-fi is a perk for those working lunches or meetings. Â They also have a private room (they call their 'Snug') available.
