Stopped in for afternoon refreshments. Friends got Bloody Walley, garnished with a home made pickle - I got the Peach Irish Tea. Â Both were fantastic. Â Up for a shot? Â Ask for a pickle back you won't be disappointed.
Bartenders are great! Â They were the owners and their pride of ownership shows from the way they dress, all vested up to how proud they are of the remodel of the 3 store fronts that are now the bar.
They just opened about 2 months ago. Â Full bar. Â Limited menu but they are adding items.
Definitely a welcomed addition to Auburn. Walley's is a semi-classy cocktail bar with a nice bar setup and a small lounge area (which is good for parties and groups). The martinis are flawless. I stick to the classic gin ones so I can't vouch for the flavored ones or the specials. Small food menu and I've only had the cheese plates which are a little on the "meh" side. Beer range is solid (it's all bottles with Guinness on tap as the lone exception). Not crazy about the music jukebox selection and the bartenders can be a little hit or miss on occasion but overall it's worth a visit and a nice change of pace from the local dives and taverns.
Review Source:Gorgeous new addition to the lacking bar/cocktail scene in Auburn, NY. Â This historical building has been remodeled into this gorgeous yet subdued space. Â From outside you can tell they spend a lot of money and time with this bar.
I like the layout a lot. Â The wooden topped bar and lighting fixtures are top notch. Â There are several seating areas with wing backed chairs and low coffee tables for conversation and gathering. There are padded window seats and outdoor seating, which is a nice touch. Â
I believe the owners are three men, one of whom is associated with Balloons restaurant, an Auburn institution.
We were greeted by one of the owners who was working the bar, which you do not see much anymore.
He was classy in a non snobby way. Â He wore a vest and was shaking cocktails when we walked in.
I loved the vintage Coke cooler used for ice? Beer? Â You know people know what they are doing when you see purse hooks, comfy stools, attentive service and a nice cocktail list that does NOT list $12 cocktails. Â For $7 we had an excellent margarita with Patron, cucumber and jalapeno. Â Am I in Auburn?
Nice job guys. Â I hope this does not become a cougar hang out or a douche bag crowd...
