Taste of Italy

My husband & I stop here every time we are in the area. A few times there has been a wait but the food is absolutely worth any wait. Salads are fresh & dressings ( Italian & Ranch ) are made there. The pasta is always cooked perfectly & the sauces are delicious. I especially like the tomato sauce on fettuccine while the husband swears by the spaghetti with meat sauce. The owner always comes by when he sees us. He remembered us since the very 1st time & we only get by there 3-4 times yearly. Great jewel of a place tucked in the corner of a shopping strip.

We decided to try Taste of Italy based on yelp and a local recommendation. We went in expecting something very casual but OK for a quick bite to eat. MISTAKE.

It took the staff about 10 minutes to acknowledge us waiting at the door to be seated, once seated another 10 minutes for someone to bring menus. 20 minutes of my life that I'll never get back in Yadkin. And then the food -  no need to go into great detail here but nothing was authentic, creative, flavorful or fresh.

Great prices, Great service, Good Italian Food!  The Fettuccine with Meat Sauce had a very good flavor, not outstanding though very good.  The Pasta and the sauce had a fine flavor.  The house made Italian salad dressing was good and the Salad was better than most side salads!  

Compared to Italian Food in Charlotte (which unfortunately does not mean much) this place is good, better than many of the Italian places I've been to in a decade (unfortunately that does not mean much either)!  For the price this place scores compared to any places for this quality! !  !
