When you have to hang out and wait for people, this is a great place to do it. This little bar off the highway, home to locals, truckers, and other transients is full of warmth and good people. Its also full of humor with signs stating who is banned from the place (hope my name never appears)! They have big screens so you can watch "the game" and the food is good and won't break the bank. You know that is a great sign of hospitality because as I was leaving, the bartender invited me back! This is the kind of place Toby Keith wrote about in his hit "I love this bar" And you really will!
Review Source:went here over the summer on our way back from the drive inn down in ennis. we decided we would go in no matter what it turned out to be (half the group thought it was going to be a strip club).
turned out to just be a dive bar, country feeling.
i mean this place is literally 10 min from downtown dallas and we met this one guy who was like "You guys are from dallas??!! what are you doing all the way DOWN HERE in Wilmer??!! I almost never get all the way up to dallas!"
felt like a scene out of a john mellencamp video: Â you know, a bunch of people form the heartland just hanging out. it was a diverse crowd, mostly white though, and there was a guy in his 50s playing pool from in his wheelchair.
