On a recent motorcycle road trip through New Mexico, my boyfriend and I needed some food that would satisfy his vegan sensitivities and my Primal proclivities. Â Since you can't go wrong with Asian, we looked up Thai on yelp! and headed south for a restaurant in Mesilla that was supposed to be pretty good. Well on the way there (stomachs rumbling and ready to get off that bike!) I spotted this not-very-impressive Thai place...but the parking lot was full! Always a good sign, we pulled in.
The staff was so friendly and the food was quick to arrive. And boy! It was an unexpected delight to find such amazing, HOT food in the middle of Las Cruces. The beef stir fry was so tasty, I was a bit sad when I cleared my plate so quickly. And the tofu buddha's delight was completely satisfying to the vegan.
If we're ever in Las Cruces again, you'd better believe we're coming back!
Had the chance to finally check out Renoos Thai Delight which is located on the outskirts of Las Cruces. Town of Organ is pretty beat (kind of a Ghost Town) but after I read a few reviews of this hidden gem of a restuarant I had to make the trek there. Met Larry the owner upon walking in, and we talked about our favorite places in Thailand to eat, relax, and vaca. His wife Renoo was (is) the main Chef at the restuarant. I ordered the Beef Pad Si Eu and the Pannang (Chicken) Curry. They also give rice and soup with each entree, which were both well priced. Got my order to go and when I got home, I was very satisfied. You get fresh made food made to order, which is always good. The taste and spice were great. I probably could of ordered my food a little more spicy than the halfway mild/halfway medium way I ordered it.
All in all, a great spacious restuarant that you should definitely check out if you're out that way.

I know, I KNOOOOOW. It looks scary on the outside, but REALLY. This restaurant is amazing! Our favorite thing to eat are the 'Angel Wings'. Chicken wings stuffed with HEAVENLY deliciousness. It's tiny on the inside but are welcomed by the owners who are in the kitchen. We live right down there street so it's easily accessible BUT I recommend coming up the hill from town to get something different and delicious.
By the way, they are not affiliated with the Thai Delight in Mesilla.
I visited my boyfriend  when he was on a business trip at White Sands 2 years ago and this is one of the places we ate at. We went 2 times during my short stay since I liked it so much! I really enjoyed their green curry with chicken and I think I had the red on the second occasion. They also came with miso soup which is unusual but yummy, everyone loves that stuff and it's light and not too filling.
I think we also had a fried tofu appetizer served with a yummy peanut sauce. It was so good I ordered the same thing at a restaurant at home and was very disappointed. Their sauce was just peanut butter with spicy oil mixed in, while Thai Delight's is more of a delicious thick  syrup or sauce.
But my real favorite was the dessert! I absolutely loved the sticky rice with mango. It is a nice scoop of warm sticky rice topped or mixed (I don't know for sure how it's prepared) with a sweetened and condensed coconut milk sauce. It is then sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds and accompanied by fresh mango slices and a dollop of Thai custard. The custard had a slight green tinge, so I'm thinking it might have been pandan.
Anyway, the coolness of custard nicely melded with the warm rice and made it even creamier while the mango gave just the right amount of tang. Again, I tried to get this back home, but it was missing the custard and sesame seeds, still delicious but couldn't compare to Thai Delight's version.
Really good food and service from a remote location, truly an oasis in the desert!
Name changed to Renoo's Thai Delight in 2011. The original Thai Delight moved to Mesilla, and this one now has a new owner. The two restaurants are unaffiliated.
Food is even BETTER than before(!), and the menu is the same.
They will happily make a vegetarian version of any dish, with tofu or not - it's just not explicitly on the menu.
There are two listings for this restaurant on Yelp. The correct listing is Renoo's Thai Delight, 16140 Old Organ Main Street, Organ NM.
They are now open from 2pm-8pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The place was good and cozy and everyone in my group commeneted on how good it was. they said the thai iced tea or whatever it was was eh.
i got the stir fried garlic and it was good.
we would go back next time we are in the cruces area
but be warned the thai hot is HOT! our guy that prides himself on being able to eat anything almost couldn't eat his curry.
oh yeah 1 thing that worried me is that there were no asian people working there, but on our way out an asian lady walked in, giving the place more credability i think.
and 1 more final thing we asked if they had any beer and the waiter said "not yet" meaning soon they will be serving beer hopefully.
I have been stuck in Las Cruces for 3 yrs and have pretty much given up on finding good Asian food. Â Seems to me that if you fry something with soy sauce, you can call it Asian. Â
Tonite, a friend brought food from Thai Delights. Â Now, having lived in Seattle and Los Angeles I've had my share of authentic Thai food short of going to Thailand. Â As far a Thai Delights goes, it's not the best but it sure satisfies a craving for Asian food in this area! Â
The pad thai was delicious, as was the panang (yellow curry). Â The beef fried rice left much to be desired, but again, better that a lot of other options in the area.
I would definitely eat here again!
I'm new to the Cruces area. I've lived 30+ years in Boston, Chicago, LA & Phoenix, so I've had a pretty decent view of American ethnic food. I've also traveled a fair bit around the world...Michelin stars in Paris and London, guinea pig in Peru, even a short stint through Thailand years ago. This was a very pleasant surprise. Nice heat in the hot dishes(not Thai hot) with sauteed jalapenos for the heat in the dish, not just chili flakes sprinkled on (though those were brought without asking, also). No charge for refill Thai tea w/cream...a real plus when they can usually be $3 a pop. Overall worth the trip!
Review Source:This place is way off the beaten path, as you will think you are half way to Alamogordo by the time you get there. Â The food is good with moderate pricing. Â Since the owner is Thai, I would imagine that if you want a dish that is not on the menu, call him over to the table and I bet he can make it. Â The menu is written in "Plain English" for those that do not know what Thai food is about. Â That is pretty smart if you ask me!
If you need a "fix" to hold you over, this is your option in town.
I'm a girl from a big city and know what good, authentic Thai food should taste like. My husband has actually spent three months touring Thailand. When this new restaurant opened, I was eager to try it because Las Cruces has a real lack of good eats. Plain and simple... this restaurant disappoints. If there was a way to give it no stars, I would. The food was not appetizing. The rice was sticky and overcooked, not long grain, the Panang was watery and un-flavorful, and the Phad Thai was un-edible. They even gave us Japanese soup with our Thai food. Â Of course, then again, the sign says Thai Food and Steaks, which is pretty funny. The food ultimately went into the trash, where it belongs, as did the $20 we paid for the "meal."

Owner Thom Feldt did an awesome job. Their pad thai (one of my most favorite dishes in the world thus far) is delicious and it had a flavor more familiar with many Thai restaurants that I've experienced outside of Las Cruces. By far, the best tasting pad thai I've had in Southern New Mexico.
We also indulged in the beef green curry dish with potatoes, peppers, in a spicy coconut green curry sauce. Served with rice, soup and salad.
They also kept some of the Organ Mountain Cafe's original dishes. The green curry beef soup (more like a hearty stew) was a filling treat...so favorful!
They also have desserts that are baked fresh daily: cheesecakes, lemon cake, carrot cake, rolls, more....
Very fun, welcoming staff. They're still working on getting the hang of things as it was the first day open but I'm confident things will run smoother in the next couple of days.
What a gem on the east side of town!
