On a trip back from Florida we were passing Three Pigs right as our three pigs were squealing for food. And since we can't resist roadside BBQ, it was a no brainer.
As the other reviewer has said, the menu has a lot more than BBQ, but that's what I was interested in. A plate of chipped pork came already drenched in sauce. It was fine sauce, but I prefer it to come dry and smoked so I could play with the six different sauces they had on the table. Maybe this is a regional difference, however, and I'm not up on my Alabama BBQ.
I ordered two sides of Mac and cheese, but the kitchen only had enough for one. How does that happen at a BBQ place?! French fries were good. The Brunswick stew was fabulous (but you can't get it as a side). My wife didn't love her catfish, but I liked it fine. The oldest got a hamburger and devoured it, but I thought it looked overdone.
Service was friendly but slow. Very slow. I think they might have been dealing with an unexpected rush, although the dining room wasn't full at all.
In the end, it was fine. Nothing special.
When you first see this rustic little restaurant, don't be fooled by its appearance. There is great food galore here. Also, BBQ is misleading in the name. Â You can get hamburgers, chicken fingers and all kinds of other sandwiches and meals here. Â Let's not forget the most mouth watering ribeye steak that can be found. Â Scotty (the owner) has his own way of marinating this steak to perfection. It has a nice family atmosphere, service that is second to none and an all around great place to eat.
