Thunder Road

Nice trashy little place, has every states licence plates on the wall. The bartender used to be a trucker with her husband, and talked with us for a good while about the places she'd been and the places we'd been and all the quirky US roads.

You can smoke in here, and we used cash only. The place fills up over the winter (so we heard) with all the people that can't go to Bubba's during the winter.

Personally, if you're daytime drinking, head to Bubba's. If it's a weekend, and you really just wanna curl up against a bar with a beer and not deal with techno and frats down at the docks, head to Thunder Road! It was just the kind of backwoods trashy hell-hole I was looking for.
