Of the various bars at Hawk's Cay, I found myself drawn to the poolside tiki bar most of all. Â Perhaps it's my weakness for the Tiki style, or maybe its the fond memories of some great Hawaiian vacations.
Or maybe it's because a certain corner seat at the bar had a commanding view of the entire pool area, the fire pit, the hot tub, and 90% of the lagoon.
I should also note that this bar was open WAY later than all the other bars on the resort.
In short - not a bad place to hang out in the shade, with a cold cocktail and a book, while keeping an eye out for family members who are still enjoying the sun. And it's the only choice if you want a nightcap after dinner.
The food was served by the Beach Grill, and therefore terrible (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/beach-grill-duck-key#hrid:uA9w84gxZckqR1hEQppDIg">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a>).  The prices were high. The bartenders weren't very skilled, packing way too much ice into their drinks. But the beers were ice cold and the company collegial.
The Tiki Bar was all about location and ambiance, so I'll give it one thumbs up.
