Haven't been in about a year because the few times I went it was barely OK. Saw the chip server digging in the warmer with their bare hands to fill the baskets after cleaning tables. Need I say more? How many Mexican restaurants does Midlothian need? We have three subways, two Whataburgers and who knows how many Mexican restaurants. This town is stupid!
Review Source:The service depends on whose table you're at. We had so-so service, while the table next to us had great service. The food is ok, but I had to ask for a new spoon since mine had something stuck to it from a previous diner. Gross. It's a deal breaker for me, and they brought the spoon out already in my cup of charro beans. It makes me wonder if our waitress did that on purpose to hide the gunk on the spoon. My wife really liked the fajitas, but not so much her enchilada.
Bottom line, if we had cooked this at home, we'd probably be pleased with ourselves, but since we paid $9 a plate for it, we'll opt for a better place next time.
Tio Tony's, what can I say. I've only ever been there for lunch a few times. The service was okay, and the food was passable. It's just so damn underwhelming I'm having trouble comparing to anything.
Think of it like this, it's like someone ordered a mexican restaurant from a catalogue. Nothing original or new, but nothing bad. It's just solidly, meh.
I'm not trying to be harsh, if you like boring white people versions of mexican food then this is your place. They serve beer and they have cute decorations hanging from the ceiling. The whole restaurant almost seems like a terrible attempt by a bunch of americans that went to a real mexican restaurant, once and thought, "You know, more sombreros and tequila bottles would really make this better."
God, I can't seem to stop sounding like I hate this place, but I really don't. It's just so darn boring. Look, maybe I should just tell you folks this, do you like mexican food? Yes? Okay, well then if you want a place that has good prices, decent portions and wont make you sick, then this place'll do.
