Just tried this place by chance while stopping in at Osage Farms produce market next door with a friend. Â While we were picking up some veggies I kept smelling this delicious smoked meat aroma drifting in and I couldn't leave without trying some of their food. Â
They are set up in a little shed with a smoker outside right next to the market and it is easily the best bbq I have had in a long time. I was trying not to get carried away from the smell that just about had me salivating on myself while we were waiting in line so I kept my order to 2 sandwiches and a dessert. Â All I can say is I was sad I didn't order more.
The brisket sandwich was so good it really didn't even need sauce. Â It was nice and moist with a great smokey flavor and just melted in my mouth. Â The awesome part about the taste is that it was smokey without being overwhelming. Â I don't know what the secret is to making perfect brisket but they have found it.
The other sandwich was pulled pork and if you're used to the usual run of the mill nothing special pulled pork many places around Atlanta have then this will renew your faith in pulled pork sandwiches. Â It was jam packed with meat and a really good tangy sauce. Â It had a wonderful flavor and was super moist and tender. Â I can't say enough good about it and I wish I had better words to use than delicious. Â To compare it the bbq seemed like it should have a better word to describe it than delicious. Â
I would say this place is worth every second of the drive up from Atlanta and I will definitely be going back before they close up for winter. Â Being right next to a little farmers market you can load up on some great produce and satisfy your carnivorous urges at the same time. Â
The sides they had looked pretty appealing and the cobbler I bought for dessert was pretty good but I figured if I am taking chances on a road side stand then I am there for the meat and I didn't really try any of the other sides. Â Next time I go back I'll have to try a few sides along with their ribs and update this review. Â These guys are the real deal! Â get some while you can...their site says they are only open at the stand weekends May through October.
