The pizza is just okay.  The sauce isn't very flavorful and some of the specialty pizzas turn out soggy and seem to fall apart with all the toppings.  However, the pizza is still good enough that I will go back.
The appetizers are better.  The Italian chopped salad is good and I enjoy the dressing, but sadly, it's not exactly chopped.  It's just a regular salad.
The wings are great!  They always come out steaming hot.  I recommend these.
The drinks can be expensive so be on the lookout for their happy hour specials.
Tommy's is generally never very busy so if you're looking for an empty atmosphere this is the place to go, especially on the weeknights.

Service.  I can cook on my own time.  It's service and that night of relaxation that brings me out of my home.

I order for take out.  (Since the Pizza place doesn't deliver?  That's fine.)  They tell me to arrive for 8:30.  I arrive 5 minutes early, and stand dumb founded at the host stand for SEVEN MINUTES, before anyone comes to even acknowledge that I exist.  In in interim, two waitresses are standing in the back, chattering, whilst I stand there, looking like an idiot.

Fine.  Maybe my food isn't ready.  No problem.

Finally, someone comes up, and asks me for my name.  She goes to the back and checks for my Pizza.  Comes back epmty handed, asking me to wait.  I wait for another 6-7 (So, getting close to 15 minutes at this point.) when she realizes the Pizza is sitting in the warmer behind me at the front the entire time.

So, the food was made early, I stood around with no service for a bit, and then received a 22$ Pizza that had been sitting for at least 15 minutes before I was given it.

They used to have Pancetta on their menu, which was awesome.  When I ordered, it was gone and replaced with Bacon, which in itself is just fine!  I asked abotu the pancetta, and the girl on the phone said "We're more of an italian pizzaria."

    I can't.

The food is decent, the pizza is definitely to my liking, but I can't deal with this level of poor service.  It seems like the Owner or operator is hiring only girls, based on looks or relationship than actual work experience.

Ordered about five times, and this is the final straw for this place.  Such a shame.

Food and service both left much to be desired. The service was worse than the food. The pizza was ok. I have a personal broccoli raab and sausage pizza whic was kind of soggy, but not too bad. The wings were also soggy and extremely fatty. The chicken parm sandwich the hubby ordered was ok, but he said it didn't have a whole lot of flavor and the bread to chicken ratio was a little too much. The service was pretty bad. Our waitress seemed like she was not in the mood to work. She'd rather goof off and chat with the other wait staff.

Susan is an excellent bartender. Went out of her way to stuff my olives for my martini. I appreciate such caring and a willingness to please.  Susan was efficient and gracious to all the guests. Try the #wings and love the house salad.

It hurts me to write this.  The service is so bad.  So bad.  Last night was the last straw.  Red head waitress, that I've put up with her attitude before, who was CLEARLY drinking, butt into a conversation she was not part of, told me to shut up, pushed my face put her hands on my girlfriend's face, threatened me with a "boyfriend" who will kick my ass or else she will kick my ass, insulted my haircut (?), and then told my girlfriend that she should date her 21 year old son.  I was stunned.  My girlfriend and I, who were NOT fighting, by the way, though it sounds like this drunk waitress was coming to her rescue, were so confused and tried to laugh it off. But, the waitress was so belligerent and offensive and I started to get so angry, we had to walk out (we paid already).
Tommy, please train your waitstaff. I've had an awful experience at both Red Bank and Oakhurst with the waitstaff.  Unless you are sitting at the bar in the Red Bank location, don't go.  The bar staff there is always quick and good, and the food, as you can read the other reviews, is WAY better.

Some of the best pizza in the area.  Wings are amazing.   Have driven by this place a million times and never stopped in. Glad we stopped in today.  Will now be the go to place for pizza.

Pretty average pizza.  Apple salad was very good.  Service was good on a quiet Tuesday.

I don't know what everyone else is talking about, this place is by far one of the best pizza places around. Great food, great selection, great beer and great prices. I like to go on Thursdays for half-priced beer and wings and walk away VERY satisfied every time.

We had a party of 7. A nice meal, but nothing fabulous for the $250 is cost. The pizza was ok, but not outstanding. The drinks were tasty, but expensive. The chocolate genache was enjoyable. Would I go back? Maybe, but not in a rush.  Best part of the meal was the apple chopped salad, but he bread that comes with it is pizza dough with seasoning on top, cold, and heavy.

I've been here twice because of the free wings coupon we got in the mail.  A friend gave me hers, so obviously, i can't pass up free wings.  The wings are excellent, i really like the oven wings (not fried... i think), they seem larger/jumbo sized.  it comes with 2 dips, buffalo and blue cheese.  Love it.  wings also comes with peppers and onions.

Pizza-wise, I thought it could be better, i liked the ingredients and dough, but it always comes out a bit soggy, not sure why that is, but the pizza always seems to be soft bottomed.

Pizza is good but be careful with how many toppings you want and whic ones you choose because the crust will come out soft and soggy instead of crunchy. Great wings though. Great happy hour/football specials. I'll keep coming back.

Absolutely the best coal oven pizza I have ever had. In addition to the classy, clean interior, service is quick and courteous, and they have a fantastic bar selection. Definitely my new favorite place to eat!

Some of Tommy's pizzas are very tasty and others are just awful.  The good ones have a great mix of flavors and textures.  The plain cheese is so bland and soggy that my kids don't even like it.  I love their oven roasted wings.  Overall I feel their food is 4 star if you know what to order, but a three star rating for the service.  Very disorganized  - either the server or the kitchen could not seem to get the food out in a timely manner.  More than once a member of my party had to wait at least 5 minutes more than the rest of us for their meal.

I ordered a personal pizza with meatballs at lunch time. The pizza was not what I expected, it was rubbery and the meatballs were almost dried up and made me sick all day. The server messed up one of our parties orders, she didn't get her sandwich until we all finished eating and they gave another person the wrong sandwich. They never even offered any type of discount. Other people I work with really like it, but I am from northern NJ and don't think this is quality pizza like what I have by my home.

Came here to try the coal fired pizza & wings...the wings were okay as long as you specify you dont want them blackened by the fire (aka burnt), but roasted.  Pizza lacked flavor & tasted nothing but the burnt cornmeal they cook it on.  The whole bottom of the pizza was black.

The food is nothing to complain about, but the service is so incredibly awful that it will never be an enjoyable experience to go there. If you must have Tommy's Coal Fired Pizza, drive a couple miles to the Red Bank location.

I've heard for YEARS that Grimaldi's pizza is the best in NY, due to its coal-fired ovens.  So, when a coal-fired pizza restaurant opened near me, I was eager to try it.

I ordered a plain pizza, half mushroom.  I was happy to see that half the pie was covered in mushroom--they certainly don't skimp on toppings!  I could also see that they used slices of mozzarella instead of shredded--something I also liked.  I was all set to dig in.

Unfortunately, I was met with instant disappointment.  The crust was soggy & bland, the cheese rubbery, and there was an indistinct spice to the sauce that completely overpowered all tomato tastes.  I am not kidding when I say I've tasted better frozen (DiGiorno's Supreme easily tops this mess).  Most of all, I was angry that I'd paid $18.95 for a sub-par pizza.

The restaurant itself was noisy & fashioned itself after a typical sports bar.  The hostess was a complete dimwit and I had to walk her through taking my to-go order.  If this place lasts a year, I'll be surprised.  Skip this dive & just order from Pyro or the plethora of other decent pizzerias in the area.

Seriously, $18.95 for a pizza with half topping?  Even if it weren't awful, you have to ask yourself what the hell are they thinking???

I sampled the pizza far at Tommy's yesterday. Wow, is all I can say. Those that follow my reviews know that  I am quite criticial of the restaurants that I review ... well, no negative reviews from me about Tommy's.

What a truly, delicious , pie. Real, coal fired pizza. Ordered a plain, just cheese pizza. Basil and mozzarella, tasted awesome. Crust was delicious as well. I didn't think it would happen, but it did. Tommy's beats Vic's on the best tasting pizza on the Jersey Shore. On a side note, I ordered the tomato / mozzarella salad, which was very good.

The waiter was friendly and attentive. Bathrooms were clean as could be. Plenty of available parking for a full crowd.

    Wouldn't hesistate to return. Delicious!
