Trainer's Midway

I've been here a couple of time and its nothing to brag about but, there is plenty of parking for trucks. The food is hot but everything is from a box, except the homemade peach pie I had which was made with fresh peaches as well. The service is great. The place isn't anything fancy but if your in the area you can find some traditional meals.

The place is fine, pretty much what you'd expect from a roadside diner.  

That said, I have some thoughts.

1.  When you allow customers to "upgrade" from chips to fries, maybe explain that the fries will come smothered in gravy.

2.  Allow the parent of a 3 year-old to order a beverage for the child.  Don't ask (in front of the child) if said child would "like" chocolate milk.

3.  If you're a female employee cleaning out a mens' room, maybe place a sign on the mens' bathroom door that you're in there.  Or better yet, leave the door open.

Other than these things:  the service was as friendly as can be, and my turkey club was crispy and delicious.  And yes, despite my wife's protestations, the gravy fries were amazing.

So so.  I love diners and had high hopes for this one.  Food was below average, meatloaf was bland,  my Dr. would have frowned at the amount of salt it needed.  Decor was original but who cares, it's about the food.  I might have made it 3 stars but the men's room reeked of sewer gases and the waitress had a death rattle cough around the food.
