Trappers Bar & Grill

My husband and I came here three years ago with my grandma and great aunt. This is truly a small agricultural Kansas community, so the restaurant options are very limited, and what I call, "very Midwestern."

"Midwestern" means limited salad options, meat and potatoes cooked with no spices (unless salt and pepper are the only spices you use in cooking). With lots of salty gravy.

The decor definitely reflects the name "Trappers"...very kitschy stuffed animal heads (or more) look going on.

For taste, I'd say it's more of a 2. For being an interesting restaurant and local hang-out in a very small community, a 4. So that's an average of 3.

We had buffalo burgers...which we overdone for my husband me, but fine for everyone else present. Since buffalo is lean, it can't be cooked like beef.  So, if we ever eat there again, I'll ask for mine "rare."
