Sorry, my meal and experience last night was very disappointing. Found a seat in the bar area...not AT the bar, but rather at a table within the bar. The bartender was responsible for the table...bad move for them and for me...slow beyond slow. So, service was poor all night. Now about the food. This is my 2nd time at TL. Last time I had the fish tacos, which were good, not really GREAT. Fortunately, I got to taste the soup of the day and an empanada; both were fabulous. Last night, I ordered the diver scallops with lobster risotto dinner. Scallops were crusty (just under burned) on one side, no color on underside..had to cut them in half to get rid of the overcooked, tough crusty side of the scallop. Now, about the risotto...creamy, but borderline mushy and NO flavor. Boring meal that sounded so delish on the menu..I was very disappointed.
I'd like to mention too that they were running a portable air conditioner outside the bar area and it was not really effective...hate being hot and sweaty when dining.
I will try TL again...but will stick with the items that have gotten the great reviews.

We stopped by after a concert nearby, looking for anything edible after 10 PM. Trinity exceeded our expectations. They were serving only the Tapas section of the menu. Not particularly Spanish, but the portion size was perfect for so the late hour. The food was excellent.
I had Brazilian Empanadas, the missus had pierogies, and our friend had fondue.  I tried all, and the pierogies were my favourite. They can be oily and heavy. These were light and delicious. But everything was good. The ladies had cocktails which were top notch. I stuck to a beer. They have a very good selection of not-so-usual brews in bottle. The service was excellent and very friendly. Nice spot to hang out, too. I don;t know what it's like when it's busier, but will definitely go back again when in the area again.

My second visit here, as it is definitely the best and most well thought out restaurant in that area.

First time I was there, it was absolutely better, unfortunately the cooking was a drop subpar to the amazing level it was last night.

Love their tapas style.  I have no need for an entree as the tapas selection is so large and the array is very colorful.

The chicken lettuce wraps were overly salted, it was way too much.  However the other dishes were very good.  I do wonder if there is a new chef there as the first time I was there I was blown away.

The server was very nice, but very very new.  I have patience and she didnt do anything wrong so I can't complain... It could have been annoying that she didnt even know what a certain sauce was.

Not so sure if it's going to be my absolute must-go to when I'm in Newton again...

Wow, what is this place doing in the middle of nowhere? I'm not sure, but I am not asking questions. Serious cocktail list, craft beers, and cheap quality beers on tap.
Service was really slow, but why would you come here if you were in a rush anyway? The server was pretty hip and friendly. The soup of the day (tomato bisque) impressed me, with shredded leaves of fresh basil.
I was fairly satisfied after that along with my fresh Yuengling on tap, but somehow I found room for half of the bacon cheeseburger. It was calling my name and I don't regret it for a minute!
Crispy bacon, gooey cheddar. I ordered it medium and it was definitely well, but I was able to enjoy it. I mean, it took about 40 minutes so I was ravenous.
Cute spot worth hitting up if you happen be around here. A sense of class, semi-high end, but also not trying too hard. I can appreciate that. Reasonable prices.

Tapas was good - service was SLLLOOOOWWWWW.  They picked it up a little bit as the evening wore on, and I would give it 4 for the food, but at 150 bucks for 3 people, i just felt as though the service wasn't up to snuff.  I will try it again and re-review at a later date ...

This is a great place for happy hour! They have half price specialty martinis and tapas. The only problem is that you have to sit in the bar area for the half price specials, and there is very little room.

My husband and I LOVE this place. Such a departure from the boring, usual Sussex County eateries. Our favorites are the calamari appetizers. We get them every time. The Greek chicken was amazing and I have the lobster, salmon pinwheel. The drinks are fantastic. I had the jalapeño martini. It was delicious. We go back whenever we can.

Another very changed place in Newton!  Came here before a concert at the no-longer-a-dump Newton Theatre.  And so did everyone else, or so it seemed because the place was packed.

This used to be Barristers, one of the rougher bars in town.  Not any more!  Now there's a martini menu (around $8/9 I think), a good selection of craft beers and a pretty nice menu.  We didn't have much time, so I only got to try the pork wings (fantastic) and the little open face steak sandwiches (really good).  The bartenders were slammed, but were on top of everything.

There's a huge back room in addition to the cozy front room and the smallish bar area in the middle.  The crowd were all people going to a Blues Traveler show.  In other words, they were all like me and my wife.

But anyway, I'd like to make it back some time when there's not a show down the street, take in some of their own live music that they advertise having just about every night of the week and check out more of the menu.

We have only visited  this place once but really loved the three appetizers that we ordered.  The cheese fondue contained blue cheese and was rich and delicious. The pork wings were tender and flavorful. The shaved beef sandwiches were also well executed and delicious.  I had asked about a wine and the waitress thoughtful brought me a small taster first.  I was grateful, because I would have been disappointed.  The place does have a very New York look and the wait staff is attentive.  We plan to continue to patronize this place.

This is one of our favorite places in the area by far! My favorite is the Greek chicken, it has all my favorite things in one dish. I have been here several times and have always left happy. They were even so kind to accommodate my huge family for dinner after my college graduation. My foodie family loved it as well. The highlights for them were the scallops in lobster sauce, bada bing shrimp, empanadas, and the Greek chicken of course.

What a disappointment. This place has the ambiance of a New York restaurant, complete with french doors that open to the street so you can dine al fresco. It's also got New York drink prices. Unfortunately, the drinks leave a lot to be desired. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and instead got something that looked like fruit punch. It was pink, with lemon and lime slices in it. If you've ever had an Old Fashioned you know that lemon, lime, and pink are not part of the recipe.  When I questioned the bartender I was told that they were out of oranges and maraschino cherries so she substituted  'cherry syrup' and lemon and lime slices. I had to ask if they had bitters, at which point she added a drop or two. Worst drink ever. Price tag: $9.00. Note to the management of Trinity Lounge: You're in Newton, NJ, not midtown Manhattan.  As for the food, it was mediocre at best. My husband had crab 'cakes' which were small balls of overcooked breading with nothing that resembled crab inside. My scallops were okay, but the accompanying risotto was swimming in a greasy sauce.. Do yourself a favor and make the trip to 'Salt' in Stanhope (formerly Bula of Spring St, Newton) or Krave at Sparta Ave in Newton for a meal you'll truly enjoy.
