  I totally disagree with people saying that this is the best place to get a chicken fried steak! I had a relative tell me the exact same thing...yet when I had one last night it was awful! The servers are rude and the menu doesn't tell you that they charge an extra $2.00 for fries with the sandwiches...and the waitresses don't tell you either, but they sure ask you if you want chips fries, or hash browns, but they never tell you about the up charge. They just basically told me "tough luck hun!" so I will never go there again. People say that people in the midwest are polite and friendly.... I've met friendlier people in New York! I'm glad to be going back to the big city!

  Tub's Pub is a large bar & restaurant that must be able to seat the entire town.  Good thing, too, because it was packed when we showed up.  Whoever decorates Tub's Pub for the holidays has a lot of time on their hands and no fear of garland.  The end result is both gaudy and beautiful.
  
  The chicken fried steak is huge; when it arrived I was sure I'd be taking half of it home.  Then I couldn't stop eating it.  Not for the faint of heart, but worth it--and worth our drive from Kearney.
