We shared the ribs appetizer and it was amazing, fell right off the bone.  I would give it a 5 if I liked the atmosphere, wasn't really what we were looking for so just had the appetizer a glass of wine each and went to another place.

Comfort food at comfotable prices. If that isn't their motto, it ought to be. Decent portions, familiar dishes expertly prepared and service that rocks. Highly recommended.

Thanks Yelp for offering up a great suggestion on where to eat! Came here on a Sun night during Oscars, and it was quite empty, but that's good for me because I didn't have to wait for a table. Since it WAS Oscars night, I had to sit in the lounge to watch. Even though they had it on silent, I was able to watch who won.

Back to the food and service. Service overall was very attentive, maybe because it wasn't that busy in the lounge area.

For my food, I opted to start with a bowl of chili that was very solid tasting. For my entree, I ordered the pork chop with a side of mashed potato, green beans for the veggies and some apple sauce to go with the pork chop. The pork chop you could tell was brined because it was seasoned all the way through. It was a little bit charred more than I would like, but still very good. It was a healthy sized portion all the way, and the prices here were really reasonable.

Definitely recommend coming here for quality food that's not overpriced!

This was a pleasant surprise for my sweetie and I.  During President's Day weekend, we had stayed  fairly close to the Twin Palms Bistro and Lounge.  First, we yelped a few brunch places.  The first restaurant we hit was way to crowded and had a crowd of people waiting to be served.  We tried another place that did not appear that busy and were advised of a 40 minute wait.  We cruised down the street and came across the Twin Palms.  To our amazement, we were seated immediately by our friendly host.

At first we thought we might be out of place due to the patrons that were present were middle aged men.  I was the only woman patron and a bit younger than middle age.  The crowd eventually started to get diverse with a couple and some women patrons that came in.

The atmosphere is sophisticated casual.  The waiter was kind and attentive.  He even brought us complimentary cinnamon rolls which held us over as we were famished from searching from a decent breakfast or brunch place.  He served us our waters in nice wine glasses.

Okay, now to the food.  This place had a 5 potential but,  they currently have a limited menu so, we deduct a point off.  My sweetie had fish and chips and coleslaw.  I sampled it and the fish was perfectly battered and had a nice crunch.  My mushroom burger was grilled with a perfect char.  I asked for it well done and they managed to cook it perfectly while maintaining the burger's juices.  Having our brunch with live music (a flutist and a pianist) was nice.

Service was excellent.  Everyone from the waiters to managers that checked on us were kind and efficient.  They told us that they had only been open since August and most of their patronage has been word of mouth.

This place is easy to miss.   There is no big sign denoting who they are but, they are next to a Carrow's.  Kudos to Twin Palms!  They are doing a great job.

Twin palms is by far one of our most favourite restaurants in  the  desert. The server staff are honestly outstanding, the food very nice, great cocktails, and a pleasant environment . The owner Pat very polite friendly and so respectful of the Canadian tourist.. We would and will continue to support this restaurant and will direct our fellow Canadians to do the same. Now men and women of the desert get out and support this great spot.

Love the place!!!  Great Happy Hour, nice patio in back. I'll admit I've never eaten a full meal there, but I've had just about every apetizer and they were all great.  The staff is friendly, prompt service and nice ambiance.

I've eaten at the Twin Palms Bistro several times and the food and service are both consistently excellent! When they say they have "comfort food at comfortable prices" they really mean it. I was there for lunch and had the Tomato Basil soup and can honestly say that I've never tasted tomato soup like this, it was extraordinary. I was tempted to ask for a gallon to go, it was that good.  I'm going to keep going back as Mel, Marilyn and the whole staff make it so much fun to be there.

Recently, friends recommended that we accompany them to Twin Palms for dinner but we were very apprehensive as we had read Yelp reviews that were discouraging, Our dining experience was very, very good and Twin Palms deserves community support.

We sat in the recently remodeled upper level dining area and it was spacious and comfortable. Given what we had read on Yelp, my partner and I were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, reasonable prices, good wine selection and outstanding service. We had two waiters, one of whom was in training, both had great personalities and they made our evening fun. Busing service was excellent as well. I had the sirloin streak with baked potato and al dente Julienne veggies sauteed in butter. My partner had delicious meatloaf and gravy with mashed potatoes.

If you are looking for a good weeknight spot for a night out, this restaurant hits all the right buttons. We'll be going back soon.

My partner and I have been to Twin Palms twice over the past two weeks and had an enjoyable time on both occasions.  The staff is friendly and efficient and the food is very good and a great value.  We have ordered the chicken fried steak which comes with a salad and two sides, the chicken pot pie and the beef stroganoff.  All were very good.

We also met the owner who was very charming and hospitable.

I highly recommend Twin Palms and intend to return for many more meals.

If you haven't tried it I would recommend giving it a try.

We have been coming to the Twin Palms since last August.  It is a great place.  Great service, friendly people.  Great food, good prices.  The fish and chips are one of the best in the valley.  The burgers and sandwiches are delicious!   Their prime rib is a bargain and an excellent cut of meat!

As you can tell by the majority of the reviews here, most people really like Twin Palms.   My partner and I have introduced many friends to this restaurant and it has become one of our regular stops for lunch or dinner.  We were there New Year's Eve with 5 other friends and we all had a great time.

A note to visitors/tourists, the valley has a very high gay population.  It is not unusual to see some appropriate public shows of affection at many restaurants and other public places.  If that should somehow "offend" anyone, it is probably best to visit somewhere else.

It has been my experience that  when looking at reviews it is best to take an average of them all.  This restaurant has an overall high rating.  There are always those who like to complain no matter what the reality is.  I think it makes them feel powerful and above everyone else.  It's also possible to have an isolated issue at any restaurant.

New Years Ever was my second trip to this restaurant and I have to say I was just as satisfied the second time around as I was the first.  The drinks were good, Michael the waiter was spot on and the chicken pot pie was absolutely delicious.  If you want a casual but classy place to dine I highly suggest the Twin Palms Bistro.  I was three friends and they were all completely satisfied.   My only complaint was the crowd seemed a little older but hey they have to eat to right?

Well if your gonna review a restaurant what better night than New Years Eve!!...This restaurant has been transformed in to very nice casual place. They offered their standard menu and had two NY's offerings. We passed on the specials, however they sounded tempting. Was escorted to our table promptly..they have 3 levels our seating overlooked the main restaurant bar area. Had a very nice jazz combo playing. Server was quick to welcome us for a libation..mine a standard martini. He asked if I wanted Vermouth..seems no one wants vermouth in their martini's anymore..I'm old school...Served chilled/up in a seperate carafe..two glasses..nice..husband had a tequila sunrise...both drinks were stiff!!..Order taken..Meat Loaf/mash& veg, mine grilled pork chop, baked and veg, both offerd a tossed salad. You need to request bread/roll. Arrived warm with unsalted butter.  Both entree's arrived timely, not rushed..Meatloaf/mass w/ brown gravy...hot very tasty. Grilled Pork Chop, nice cut about an inch think, moist...Would be nice if it was served w/ an orange or maple glaze..was served w/ apple sauce. Veggies were julianed ..were still crunchy considering they came off a steam table...Only two critisims..since it was my birthday my husband had ordered a cake...some how this got lost in the reservation..they had no clue...also waiter displayed some indication for our table to be cleared for us to exit. I'm sure he was not pleased for the length of time we stay and the conversations we had with the staff and owners.
This is a great addition to restaurant fare here. Food is quality, served well. Staff is good. I have to say I did ask our server about the offerings he did stear us in the right direction.  Prices are very reasonable for what you get..You can get a great 1/2 pd hamburger with all trimmings for $10.00...or  up scale to prime rib or  salmon ..
    Enjoy....................................

Good food, reasonable ($20 prime rib dinner) prices, great service and live music! New decor is a great improvement over "League if Their Own" baseball memorabilia!
Place filling up as more locals hear about

We had lunch here today and where quite surprised by this place. Does not look big from the outsifde but, when you enter it has 3 levels and disablility access to all 3 floors. The bar is well stocked,  very roomy floorinterior and great big screen TVs to watch the games. We where greeted and seated right away. The staff was efficient and friendly and made some dinning suggestions from the menu.  The menu has some good comfort food. I had the Fish and Chips and my buddy had The Twin Palms Special sandwich. The Fish was excellent! it was buttered and beer battered with well cooked fries and great coleslaw. The Twin Palms Sandwhich was also very good and you can order a side dish from the menu that is included with it. On the menu they also had appetizers like deep fried pickles, meatloaf balls, potato skins, shrimp, calamari and a few others. Salads and a couple of burgers are listed but, they also have a Prime Rib sandwich, BBQ pork Sandwich, Catfish sandwich and a few others. Other entrees like Red Beans and Rice, Ribs, Chicken Fried Steak, Prime Rib, Sole Almondine and Chicken I also had seen on the menu. Oh yea, also looks like they have live entertainment.  I plan on going back .

I arrived around 5pm. Very few customers. The restaurant was clean and orderly. The service was good. The background music was too loud for the dining room. I ordered the chicken fried steak-- it was good but not great (didn't care for the breading or the gravy). Overall, it was an OK experience but I don't know that I would go back.

I went on Friday 8/31. It wasn't very full at 8:30 PM and I sat at the bar and had a fabulous $10 burger with all the toppings you want from a list of around 10+. I got blue cheese, grilled onions, and mushrooms. You also pick a side from another list of 15+ and I got sweet potato fries. Everything was perfect. Note: the entrees come with 2 selections from the sides. Returned the following Friday 9/7 and my friend had the burger and liked it as well but I order a shrimp burrito which was not so good. A lot of rice and beans and not many shrimp and it came with yet more rice and beans on the side. I am not sure they really need Mexican food because there are so many other choices and I think I would go somewhere known for Mexican food before going here. The first Friday there was a steel drum player who was quite good but very out of place, more for a tropical cruise maybe, and there were only 5 people in the bar and not watching. The next Friday they had a rock band playing cover music. They were good too but so loud it was crazy and again there were few people and no one wanted to sit near the band because of the volume. I popped in another day during happy hour and there was trio with drums, bass and a piano with a female singer who were good and people were getting into it more than the previous entertainment which tells you something I think. The had 3 or so big flat screens that need to be turned off unless they are trying to be a sports bar. On all occasions the service was good and friendly and eager to please. So go try it yourself, I think you will like it.

The new decor is great, creating a terrific dining atmosphere.  Have been there for lunch and dinner this past week and really enjoyed the place.  The food is great and very reasonable priced. the Caeser salad w/ fresh grilled salmon is a bargain at $13.  We've also tried the catfish (fried to perfection) and  a couple of the Mexican plates and all were very good.

This is a nice addition to the dining & drinking scene in S. PS.  We'll be back soon!

Wow was so surprised by the fish and chips yesterday at lunch.
The fish was served as a whole fish lightly breaded and perfectly
seasoned. The cole slaw was home made. The fries were very ample portion !
Service was fast and attentive. Courteous waiter. Owner even stopped by to make sure things were okay. I feel everyone involved REALLY cares about this new endeavor.
My hats off to the management. I will look forward to the next visit ! The bar was VERY inviting! Chuck

Twin Palms reopens  today thursday 8/30/2012 with a new menu , a increase in  staff
    and redecorated interior.
I had a wonderful lunch in the new twin plams this afternoon I had the red beens and rice and it was delicious .
the menu had plenty of affordable lunch fare items as well as lots of choices for larger dinner entree's  resonably priced as well.
the onion rings are perfect , yum
I gave them a 4 star that is better than I would rate the golf club restaurants I have tried in town , no mention of there names.
    enjoy, Darrell

Went to the "Shakedown Cruise" opening of the NEW "Twin Palms" on Monday nite.  It was about par for a "first nite", with the Kitchen obviously in Ventricular Fibrilation.  Lotsa harried staffmembers as the crowd gorged on the "Free" food and the waitstaff tried to hold back the floodwaters.  I've been to other openings like this and have actually seen much worse. We were introduced to the new owner "Pat" and I was impressed at his cool demeanor while dogpaddling and smiling all the while...  I mean, for a while the place was NuTz, outta control!!!
The bar was functioning at a rate of speed that showed visibly the need for a front end allignment, BUT, they soldiered onward DESPITE the crowd 3 deep and the Wait stations completely overun by Barbarians.  The tables were full with people obviously enjoying the evening despite the evident confusion.
Much like the Titanic, the band played on.  A hip Jazz Trio led by Bassist Tibor Lesko and a Female Singer named Lee Hartley smoothly added to the ambiance. They actually melted their way through the throng's din and even managed to inspire some genuine applause and fan appreciation over the madness!  This place shows promise of becoming a good, solid Jazz venue for the area, and if the  Musicians there that nite can put wheels on it, Folks, we're going somewhere FUN..
I agree with Robert in that the food was slow and somewhat uninspired, but considering the general frenzied pace of the evenings festivities, I thought the Staff carried on with Yeoman duty.  The fella next to me at the bar was non-communicative as he chowed down on an extremely inviting slab of Prime Rib done to perfection and, I admit, he made me jealous...  The Bartender suggested we circumvent the strained kitchen conditions and order Pizza, which we did with challenging extras.  The Pizza came with a tasty sauce and full compliments of add-ons on a crisp, home spun crust.  We shared slices with our Bar mates and all eagerly inhaled their slices like shop-vacs.  We were a happy group with no need for a to-go box to take home.
I perused a Menu for future knowledge (I am VERY pro-active when it comes to eating) and was impressed by finding it quite extensive and appealing.  I especially like that the Owner is from Memphis and has given a nod to some classic Southern Foods.  If'n you like "Sweet-tater fries", "Black-eyed Peas", and "Collard Greens" to go with your Homemade Pulled Pork, you may be smiling like the four folks behind us.  I saw nothing but sparks from their utensils.  And the place has only just BEGUN!!  Its only gunna get better!!
So I am hoping that my Pilgrimages here to the Lower Desert will be able to find this new spot flourishing, and the Jazz kindled into a warm flame with just the same elements as the other night.  Sharp libations, great hospitality, a staff finding its sea legs, food that is finding its own character, and the Band solidly entrenched.
I think we have a winner on our hands!!

I really wanted to love this restaurant.  I can walk there from my house and was so excited to see a new restaurant opening there.  The staff is SO nice, but the food is so mediocre. The burger looks like its on a brioche bun, but it is actually thick and dry. The seared ahi was what I would expect to get at sizzler (although I haven't been there since I was a kid so take that with a grain of salt).  I wish these nice servers had better food to serve so they could stay in business. Overall, so disappointing :(

All the years I've lived in Palm Springs and never been inside of this restaurant building.  From the old Japanese restaurant for years, to the Red Tomato and now the Twin Palms Bistro & Lounge.  Boy what a shocker for how nice and interesting the interior of this building is, I had no idea.  You enter on what is actually the second floor and see a large lower expanse of the restaurant with the bar on the lower left and more restaurant seating to the lower right.

I went Wednesday night around 7:30pm.  The bar had live music and the bar was about half full of people.  The restaurant was about 1/4 to 1/3 full with all age groups and a couple of families.

I was seated right away.  I was waited on right away.  The food came right away.  I ordered the Calamari appetizer and the Lamb Shank entree.  After I was seated the busser brought a huge basket of warm artisan breads, with a cucumber salsa, a small  cream cheese and butter (free).  The bread basket and the appetizer could easily feed 3 people with drinks.  The entree was also huge.  I had already filled up on the appetizer, bread and beer ( I went by myself).  Basically, I left with another whole meal for lunch the next day.

The restaurant has a great ambiance, with odd sort of collections like vintage movie posters on the walls, arrow head collections, etc.  The wait staff were very attentive and genuinely concerned when I had only eaten 1/2 of my appetizer and entree.  It was so much food I had to take it home.  And, I bypassed the salad that came with the entree.  The only minor detraction was the food is served on cafeteria/dennys type small white plates.  The cheap dinner plates were out of sync with how nice everything else was.

It's a 5 minute walk from my house in Twin Palms and I will definitely become a regular.

This place has a fun, funky atmosphere. They had live music (a band playing classic rock and blues) which was fun, and people were dancing. I had the fish of the day (sol, pan blackened) and it was delicious, even though normally I do not like fish. The staff was extremely friendly, and the owner even came by and chatted with us at our table. Overall, good for casual dinners with a fun, desert/movie star vibe. This place really exemplifies the classic Palm Springs culture. They were still working on their liquor license, so even though they had a full bar, no booze was available. I believe they have started serving alcohol since I went though, so you should expect to be able to order your favorite brew or cocktail.

I went here with my favorite dining companion. This place used to be The New Red Tomato on Palm Springs, but has new owners. The decor is the same but he menu is quite different and they are still working on getting the liquor license transferred. Because of the liquor thing, all soft drinks were free. I ordered the zucchini slices (fried) and the veggie burger. My dining companion had ahi tuna entree. Our waiter, Brian, was very attentive and was helpful when going over the menu with us. The zucchini slices were fried to perfection and the ranch dipping sauce was quite good. Brian brought t me some marinara sauce to try for dipping as well. The bread course was cut up pizza dough with a tomato tapenade which had a bruschetta effect. THe veggie burger seems to be made fresh on site and is substantial, the sweet potato fries were a bit soggy but tasty anyway. My dining companion loved his tuna entree. We split an "apple cake" dessert, which was moist and everything an applesauce cake should be. Give this place a try. They also have a lounge featuring live jazz music which had a smattering of the early bird crowd left when we saw it. The crooner had a decent voice and loyal audience.
