hat an amazing discovery.  Really enjoyed our food. what a surprise.  ll 8 in our party raved about their meals.  Service is not stuffy.  Food excellent.  Atmosphere very casual.  Not fine dining.   But fine food

I am a frequent visitor to Hertford. I was recommended I try this place by a friend. Needless to say I went TWICE in three days!  Big food, small town.

The restaurant is located on Market Street and it is chef owned and operated (take that Las Vegas!). The chef has impressive credits and a creative talent for executing great food.

    Pros:

Shrimp and Crab Cake sandwich -  a thick crab cake with shrimp and crusted in potato chips then served on a fresh roll with chipolte mayonnaise. Handmade yukon gold potato chips on the side and a side dish of your choice. I chose the spinach casserole.

Gyro - The bread was so soft and fresh, the tziki sauce was made on the premises and the meat was melt in your mouth. Again I chose the spinach casserole (it was THAT good) as my side dish.

Taco Salad - This was a special offered for the day. A wonderful fried flour shell bowl (or served on mixed greens with tortilla strips on top for the more health conscious), filled with mixed greens, black angus chilli, corn relish, salsa, wasabi ranch dressing, sour cream (all three served on the side) and cheese. This was one of my favorites because the chilli is delicious.

Cataloup Soup - Served chilled (perfect for the summer) with hints of strawberry.

Asparagus - This was the vegetable of the day so I'm not sure it will always be available but the seasoning combined with being roasted, grilled or whatever magic she does to them makes this amazing!

Sweet potato chips - handmade, sliced thin and dusted with cinnimon sugar. These are offered as one of the side dishes with your meal.

Beef Brisket - Served with or without barbeque sauce. We chose the barbeque with the sweet potato chips and asparagus. The other option is served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The meat was so tender you could cut it with a fork.

    Cons:

Alcohol is not served at this establishment. The owner of the building won't allow a liquor license. However, catered and private events are a different story.

The restaurant closes briefly between lunch and dinner. The kitchen is small but the chef can perform miracles in it. The dining area gives a few options. My favorite is the tables right by the window, however there is an upstairs for overflow and a private room.  All of the sauces, dressing and seasons are created and made by the chef herself.
