As a local of Wayland, I have eaten at this place a number of times. Â Half at dinner and the rest at their lunch buffet. Â They always look busy when I drive so business must be good. Â Although I do not count myself a regular, whenever I think of eating in a sit down resturant in Wayland I usually consider them first.
Their specials when they have them such as buy one pasta on Monday get the second one half off are nice since their prices are not especially cheap. Â But that being said, their portions are very good and I have never left hungry and if you knew me you would know that I eat a lot.
Food quality is good. Â Service is adequate (but as a former waiter I expect certain things.)
I must say that their lunch buffet is very good. Â Standard fare is supplemented with good Italian dishes that make the lunch pleasing.
If looking for a more than average restaurant in Wayland, go here.
I'm not even sure where to begin when writing this review. Â I worked at this particular Uccello's (the fourth of four) for nearly a year. Â When I started I had never served before, and I was horrified by the fact that we did not get trained. Â At all. Â But, I could get over that. Â Especially because the food is amazing.
Other than that I would say that the Wayland location has absolutely no sense of how to run a business. Â They treat their employees like they are expendable, and have turned the *ENTIRE* staff so many times in the year and four months they've been open that I'm surprised they are still open.
Wayland was not a good life choice for the business, especially when there are Uccello's located on the East Beltline, Standale, and in Caledonia.
I wish them luck, but know that I'll never go out of my way to go back. Â And in the seven months it's been since I quit- I haven't.
