Hubby and I stopped here for lunch while we were headed to Wichita. Â While the place was/is memorable for the atmosphere and the Amish items for sale, the food isn't; I can't remember what I had to eat--probably chicken fingers/planks. Â I love the giant rooster out front, and there were many items for sale across the front of the store---no room in the truck for the planter, though!
Review Source:Uncle Rooster's far exceeded my expectations for a little old style restaurant. Â The food was excellent. Â I had a pulled pork sandwich, a heaping pile of BBQ beans, and a big pile of coleslaw for around 6 bucks. Â The quality of the food FAR outstripped the price. Â They also have onion batter dipped and fried green beans that are just mouthwatering. Â I'll take these over onion rings ANY day. Â They are amazing! Â The wait staff was extremely pleasant, and courteous, even doing magic tricks for my 5 year old as we waited for our food. Â We were checked on by several people, and all of them were very kind. Â Our drinks were refilled promptly when they reached half way. Â The portions were generous too. Â I will make SURE any time I'm back in Seymour I drop in here for a meal. Â This place is WELL worth it! Â (Oh! And don't forget to sign your name on the floor when you come by!)
