VIBE: Â Old Sinclair gas station. Â The bar is inside where car lifts were. Garage doors open up to outdoor patio area. Â Â This is truly a universal "joint" for all types of patrons - bikers, mom & dad with kids, retirees and everyone else. Has outdoor area that is dog friendly.
ORDER THE: Â Pimento Cheese appetizer is very tasty and large portion. Â Burger was ok. Â Have craft beer on tap along with mainstream choices.
My wife and I ate there for the first time today! Fantastic food! My wife loved her chicken tacos and my Bleu Cheese and bacon burger was one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. Tater Tots!!!!! Burger was cooked perfectly, med. rare. Becky waited on us. She was wonderful!! Will be heading back there soon!
Review Source:Great place, craft beer selection, menu, with great apps, burgers, & quesadillas. Had the pimento cheese app. Very good. Also had the buffalo chicken quesadilla. A bit under staffed Sunday before Memorial Day. Our server was overwhelmed with tables, but the atmosphere, beer, & food made up for it! PS...local Skye ( veggie) burgers on menu. These are great too!
Review Source:We've eaten there several times. Â Food has been consistently good. Â My husband loves their burgers. Â There are probably seven or eight types of burgers to choose from...he highly recommends the Smokehouse burger. Â It comes with BBQ pork, BBQ sauce and fried onions along with tasty fries. Â It is not for anyone with a small appetite! Â I had the fish tacos which are served with fresh chips and salsa. Â Delicious. Â And, while I don't know this for sure, the salsa tasted like it was made there rather than out of a jar. Â The fresh cilantro in it went very nicely with the fish.
We will definitely go back.
We so love that Universal Joint has come to Clayton. Great atmosphere, large patio, fabulous beers on tap, some tasty food options (even for vegetarians) and wi-fi, which is particularly helpful for us. The staff even let us do a skype call in the back booth one time when we needed to contact family, and our internet at home was kaput. Â Now that's a caring business. Â Street parking. We're happy.
Review Source:Absolutely outstanding food. Excellent friendly service. We ate here three times over as many days on our vacation. Many of the foods are locally grown. The menu is innovative and interesting. The owner stopped by to ask how things were and helped us did or waterfall destination for the next day. Two thumbs way up.
Review Source:This is such a neat place in the small little mountain town of Clayton, Georgia. It was an old garage that has been converted into a bar/ restaurant. The drink menu is quite diverse and the atmosphere is wonderful. They have a very nice outdoor patio with a huge fan and lots of tables. There is plenty to choose from on the menu and the food was delicious. This is a great little hangout spot in downtown Clayton!
Review Source:We ate here 3 times on a recent trip to the mountains. Â Each time it was a real treat. Â My wife, who is a vegetarian, was very pleased to see a black bean burger that they made in house. Â She ordered a black bean burger and salad each time. Â I had a burger, the Philly brisket, and a lunch special NY strip sandwich all of which were delicious. Â The pretzels with the stoneground mustard may be the best kept secret on the menu. What a cool concept with great food. Â A new favorite when we travel through Clayton.
