Very cool exterior drew us in. Seated right away but then waited a long time before any service. Nearly got up and left. Glad we didn't.
I got a cup of chili and a grilled salmon salad. The chili was very good and the salad, particularly the salmon, was VERY good. There was as much salmon on the salad as some salmon dinners that I've had elsewhere and the salad, itself, was very large. My wife got a personal size pepperoni pizza, which I thought was going to be 1/2 wasted whether it was good or not. Wrong! She actually ate more than 3/4 of it. Said it was VERY good.
Strangely, neither of us was very hungry to begin with but it was just too early to return to our motel room. Both of us continued to eat long after we were already full.
The $2 Bud Light bottle special was ok, too.
When I got to Uptown Charlie's I was thinking that this was going to be a bad review... I sat at the bar and watched 2 girls behind the bar walk by me a few times before finally being greeted by the apparent "bartendress" and finally was offered a beer. After the initial hick-up everything went very smooth. The girl behind the bar was very nice, she recommended the Ribeye with loaded potato and a salad. The salad was good, nice and cold, crisp lettuce and not too much dressing. Before she brought me my steak she asked if I wanted steak sauce... My initial reaction was "I better not need it!!!" and I didn't!!!!
Juicy big ole ribeye w/ a lot of flavor. I was really surprised to get this quality meat, and flavor @ a Pub. They had a pretty good sized menu and I am probably going to go back and try their ribs which looked awesome too.
My only complaint was the smoke coming from the kitchen was burning my eyes and almost making me want to cough it was so thick. Idk if they were having trouble back there, or if this is how it is always, but think about having your bbq pit in your living room. Not exactly ideal for sitting down and eating.
Keep up the good work!!! I'll be back this week sometime!
