Delicious vegetarian food at a great price. Lots of options for kids too. Simple and no fuss. Also, very laid back and friendly staff.

If it were 100% vegan I would give it 5 stars.  The food was delicious and all house made. Freedom Pizza was loaded with veggie goodness, dough was good and sauce was yum. Middle East Plate was great. Falafel was superb as well as the hummus. Service was great and cafe was a bit busy. We will be back.

This is a great inexpensive restaurant. Not many seats inside but great for take out. You get plenty of food & a completely laid back vibe.

This place is a vegetarian's L&L ... diverse menu, friendly staff, freshly made (when you order) affordable food.  They really are doing it right - cannot wait to go back for an avocado wrap!

When I find something that works I usually stick to it. And for my regular meal at this little hole in the wall that jams the reggae music and cheap eats, is the Works Burrito all the way.  An extra large Burrito that always satisfies me after a hard days work. They stuff this fatty full of rice,re-fried beans, cheese, tofu, potato, lettuce, olive, hot peppers and sour cream! With a side of guac, salsa and chips all for under 8 bucks. Always juicy inside! The only complaint I have is that sometimes they roll these fatties loose and the juices will end up trailing down my forearm all the way to my elbow . Oh and they close shop early to so if you need a 8 pm burrito fix you may be out of luck! But I still look forward to this local kitchen. They are a good tribe.

Love their pizzas, subs, and wraps.  They serve an awesome array of vegetarian stuff.  Their backed goods are BROKE DA MOUTH status.

Not bad. Interesting restaurant. It's more of a place to go for a quick bite. It's completely vegetarian and they even have a vegan menu which is a plus. I got the falafel wrap, which wasn't too bad, but it was lacking a little bit of flavor. The falafel itself was one of the better ones I've had.

I'm not sure I would personally choose to come back if I'm ever in Maui heading to Hana again.

Simply good food. I love the pesto goat cheese pizza and the side of tofu chunks and brown rice.

The vegan pina colada cake is to die for!!!!!

This is a good little vegan place that you can stop at on The road to HANA. I had the tofu nuggets which was soggy and tasted like it had turmeric. And I had the falafel wrap. Be Careful, it can get very messy, It fell apart all over my white shirt while I was eating it. The food was good and the juices were also very good and lots of organic stuff on the menu.

The bottom line is that the Veg Out has simple, freshly made, and inexpensive vegetarian fair in a casual friendly environment.  There is nothing fancy or pretentious about the food or the very sweet and younger staff who run the register and stove-top in the back-of-house.  I am guessing most of their vegetables are from Costco, which keep their prices way down and their offerings consistent as the years go by.  I personally love the falafel wraps, especially during avocado season when I get our lovely local fruit affixed onto just about everything they have to offer.  A personal family favorite that is close to home.

We went to Veg Out right after we finished our downhill bike ride at the Haleakala bike co. We were suggested a Pizza place in Paia. Looking for something more interesting we looked up this place on Yelp. I am glad we did because the Veggie Burrito was the best burrito i ever had. The falfafel sandwich didn't dissapoint as well.

In the People's Republic of Haiku there is nothing that screams hippie and simple good eating like the fresh vibrant eating of Veg Out.  Some fancy vegetarians and vegans might find Veg Out too simple and rustic.

'Cause we like Puff da Magic Dragon as much as the simple clean freaks making our lunch. Eat here if your hungry and care deeply about your health because these folks are righteous. Never a complaint .

Yes, they take their sweet time, but your smoothie is getting some love.

I was not impressed.  I had a smoothie.  I thought I would get a smoothie, run some errands, and come back for lunch but...it  took nearly 10 minutes to make the drink.  There were 3 people working and nobody else was in line or waiting for food.

Also, I could see that they were carrying juice out of the fridge to where my smoothie was being made.  Not pre-made smoothie.  Not even organic juice.  Just...juice.  Perhaps I should give them the benefit of the doubt, though.  I couldn't see my smoothie being made.

I also noticed that the condiments and various ingredients were big name brands.  So the ketchup has corn syrup, that kind of thing.  Vegetarian is still a step up from your regular fast food, at least...but I would stick to buying the premade stuff at the Mana Foods if there was an option.

This may have been our favorite restaurant on Maui; it was certainly the one we visited the most times.

As you might expect from the name, this is an all vegetarian restaurant, with a lot of vegan options.  It's tucked away in a shopping center in Haiku; be warned that if you blindly follow Google maps directions you'll probably drive right past it and have to turn around (or not get far enough down the road), since Google thinks it's a few miles from where it actually is.  It's the only shopping center I saw on the road, and across from the massage school complex, so if you're paying attention you should be able to find it.

Once we managed to find the place, we had a hard time deciding what to try.  We ended up trying four different sandwiches: taro burger, falafel wrap, muffalata sandwich, and Italian sandwich.  All were delicious, though the taro burger wasn't up to the standards of the rest (maybe being in Hawaii they just felt compelled to include it but their hearts weren't really in it?).

The fallafel wrap had several good sized, tasty fallafel wrapped up with hummus, lettuce, and tomato.  They also included a delicious sauce on the side which I enjoyed so much I kept pouring on more and more and got it all over my hands both times we had the wrap.  Completely worth the mess.  May have been my favorite.

The muffalata sandwich, was also very good, though the quality of the roll they served it on detracted slightly from it's overall goodness.  The breaded tofu was good, but it was the olive spread that was really excellent.

The Italian sandwich was definitely my husband's favorite.  This is a sub-type roll with a delicious tomato concoction featuring Italian-flavored seitan strips.  Again, messy but very delicious.

I'd recommend Veg Out to anyone, not just vegans or vegetarians.  Not a fancy place, but exceedingly delicious.  I wish it wasn't such a long plane ride away from home (though my waistline probably is grateful for the distance!).
